SpadeClub Winners Have Started Playing Their Free World Series Main Event

SpadeClub.com, the innovative online poker community, offers a risk-free way to win at poker with no deposits and no buy-ins. Find out more.

World Series $40K Giveaway ChampionsSpadeClub’s World Series $40K Giveaway champions flew in from around the country over the Fourth of July weekend to represent for the SpadeClub community at the 2008 World Series of Poker* main event. SCKenny (aka Kenny Goldstein) met up with three of the four champions on Thursday, July 3, to register them to play day 1C on Saturday, July 5. Ken “Handbone” Meyer, Charles “labotomy” Goodwin, and David “dkhunky” Kim were able to meet David Pham, the 2007 Card Player Player of the Year, who registered for free alongside the champions for winning the POY title. All three champions were escorted to the Card Player suite for pictures and interviews with SpadeClub Brittany. Michael “fugetaboutit” Pontorno met up with the SpadeClub champions later on Friday to complete the sponsored team.

Day 1:  All of the SpadeClub champions started playing at noon and were excited to play at the WSOP* for the entire SpadeClub community. Ken “Handbone” Meyer was the first to bust out after a bad beat, but the other three players were in good standing. After dinner break, labotomy let SpadeClub know he was down to 7.1K in chips but felt he was likely to make some chips back soon. Unfortunately, he was eliminated in level 5 before the end of day 1C.

Upon the completion of day 1C, the chip counts of the remaining SpadeClub champions were:

dkhunky — 61,000
fugetaboutit — 1,800

SpadeClub Member Success Freeroll prize pool: $2,000 (and growing)

SCKenny has also been playing in the main event**, and he ended day 1C with 39,750 in chips.  He appreciates all of the support he and the SpadeClub champions have received.

The remaining SpadeClub champions, as well as SCKenny, will resume play tomorrow, July 9, at noon. Keep updated by visiting SCKenny’s blog on the community page of SpadeClub.
