Josh 'pbdrunks' VanDuyn Makes Final Table, Cliff 'JohnnyBax' Josephy Makes Final Table at Full Tilt

PokerStars Sunday Million

Joshua 'pbdrunks' VanDuyn The PokerStars Sunday Million had 7,445 entrants last night, to generate a prize pool of $1,489,000. That number was basically on par with last weekend’s 7,394 entrants. Unlike last weekend, however, the $210,000 first-place prize would not get into the winner’s PokerStars account unchopped.

The three final players, Maluko0, Tsipor, and Djemps, decided to do a three-way by-the-chips chop with $30,000 left on the table for the ultimate winner (per the PokerStars chopping rules). Maluko0 had a slight chip lead when the deal was made, but all three players guaranteed themselves about $120,000. When Djemps hit the virtual rail, it was Tsipor versus Maluko0 for the extra 30 grand. Tsipor secured that extra money when he took out Maluko0 in second place. Tsipor’s total winnings came to $147,561.

The final results were:

  1. Tsipor — $147,561 *
  2. Maluko0 — $122,670 *
  3. Djemps — $119, 887 *
  4. Big_Col11 — $59,560
  5. soren2006 — $44,670
  6. mayer zs — $32,758
  7. jaywks — $23,080
  8. blanconegro — $13,401
  9. Joshua “pbdrunks” VanDuyn — $8,785

* Payout reflects a three-way deal made at the final table.

Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee

Cliff 'JohnnyBax' Josephy Unlike PokerStars, Full Tilt’s major Sunday event took a major hit last night, possibly as a result of the Easter/March Madness one-two punch. The event had a still-respectable 3,784 entrants to build the prize pool to $756,800, barely covering the guarantee. The last time the event was held (on March 2, due to last week’s $1 million guarantee and the event’s cancellation the week before), it had 4,024 entrants and a prize pool over $800,000.

The final three players standing in the event were GhettoFabolous, Nicholas “CapTinBisKuit” Blumenthal, and terhahn. GhettoFabolous was the first of the three to bow out. He collected a third-place payday of $53,000. The heads-up battle between CapTinBisKuit and terhahn ended with CapTinBisKuit raking in the final pot and the $134,000 top prize.

The final results were:

  1. Nicholas “CapTinBisKuit” Blumenthal — $133,991
  2. terhahn — $80,977
  3. GhettoFabolous — $52,976
  4. XJUSTRUNX — $41,775
  5. Mur917 — $31,331
  6. Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy — $23,233
  7. janwillemsxm — $17,406
  8. SkyyistheLimit — $13,622
  9. GinjarBear — $10,141

UltimateBet $200,000 Guarantee

UltimateBet also saw a drastic fall in attendance numbers over the holiday weekend. The $200,000-guaranteed tournament had just 804 entrants, down from the 918 entrants of the week before. UltimateBet put $39,200 of its own money into the prize pool to match the posted guarantee.

Once 804 became two, it was two notable online players vying for the $45,000 first-place prize. Kush “Kush99” Patel went head to head against JohnnyGstaks for the title. In the end, Patel was holding the winning cards in the last hand, and JohnnyGstaks left the table with $27,000.

The final results were:

  1. Kush “Kush99” Patel — $45,000
  2. JohnnyGstaks — $27,000
  3. dapfunkera — $18,500
  4. katdragon — $13,000
  5. BigBlueBin23 — $11,000
  6. T-MONET — $9,000
  7. Louisvillejac — $7,000
  8. Shark__Bait — $5,000
  9. canadiansjw — $3,500
  10. philo b — $2,000

Bodog $100,000 Guarantee

Bodog’s $100,000-guaranteed event fared the worst of the four majors during yesterday’s holiday, which equated to a huge positive equity for those who played in the event. The tournament lured just 603 entrants, meaning Bodog forked over $39,700 to match the $100,000-guaranteed prize pool (more than UltimateBet did for its $200,000 event). Entrants essentially got a $66 rebate on their buy-ins for the event.

The final two players in the running for the $25,000 first-place payday were MONSTER_DONG and RonnDough. MONSTER_DONG earned the first-place prize when he outlasted his opponent, and RonnDough made $14,300 for second place.

The final results were:

  1. MONSTER_DONG — $25,000
  2. RonnDough — $14,300
  3. croth8 — $9,200
  4. WowImBad — $6,900
  5. WaThoHuck — $5,500
  6. EddieOB — $4,500
  7. Alex “garage13” Dickinson — $3,500
  8. TheBrush5 — $2,500
  9. RoboDonk — $1,600
