LadbrokesPoker yesterday announced it had signed Boyzone star Shane Lynch on a year-long deal to support his motor sport and poker hobbies.
Lynch, when not signing with his multi-million selling pop act, is one of the rising stars in “drifting”, the UK’s fastest growing motor sport. Ladbrokes will sponsor him for his drifting season as well as a taking him to the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas this summer.
“I’d always been a bit intimidated by the poker scene,” said Lynch. “I’d seen it on TV and found the whole thing a bit baffling. But having spent time with the Ladbrokes players at a few events last year, I’ve seen that you don’t need to be an expert to give it a go. I’m really looking forward to getting into this poker journey, learning more and having some great fun along the way.”
