Two more events took place in the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) last night, a $200 buy-in, $400,000-guaranteed, four-handed no-limit hold’em event and a $200, $100,000-guaranteed razz event. WCOOP Event No. 9: $200 Four-Handed No-Limit Hold’em
For those who like extremely short-handed play, the 2008 WCOOP introduced a $200 buy-in, four-handed no-limit hold’em event. The guarantee was set at $400,000, but the 3,290 entrants made a prize pool well beyond that number at $658,000. The first-place finisher in the sure-to-be-fast-paced event would close down the final table with an extra $95,000 in his PokerStars account.
The deepest-finishing PokerStars pro in the event was World Series of Poker bracelet winner Alex Kravchenko, who finished in 26th place. Others notables who made it far in the event, among many, include John “JohnnyKran” Kranyak (ninth), Tom “Titantom32” Braband (22nd), osten (16th, who finished in fourth place in event No. 8), Peter “Nordberg” Feldman (34th, pictured at left), and Chris “TheTownhouse” Odle (35th).
When it got down to the final four players in the event — jonasof87, 3232, EirikS, and emiwarg (all with fairly comparable stacks, but with jonasof87 in the lead) — play finally put on the brakes; it took about two and a half hours for the final table to play to completion. In the end, it was emiwarg versus jonas87 for the top prize. Jonas87 outlasted fellow Scandinavian emiwarg to take down the final pot and net himself $95,410 and the gold WCOOP bracelet.

WCOOP Event No. 10: $200 Razz
The $200 buy-in razz event in the WCOOP also smashed its guarantee of $100,000 when 1,288 entrants bought in. That attendance number put $257,600 on the table as potential prizes for winners and a $43,000 first-place prize for the champion. Jordan “Octavian_C” Rich and Aaron “GambleAB” Bartley both made it deep in the event, eventually finishing in 29th and 42nd, respectively. Scott “scottyno” Novak made the final table of the event before eventually finishing in sixth.
When the 1,288 entrants had been shorn down to two, it was oneftwons and dinho_style competing for the shiny new WCOOP bracelet (and the $43,000). Dinho_style held the lowest hand in the final pot to take the event down and become this year’s WCOOP razz champion.
