UK bookmaker William Hill has secured an interim injunction against iPoker network operator Playtech to prevent it from making “significant amendments” to the joint venture project between the two companies.
News reports previously suggested Playtech was in discussions with William Hill’s great rival Ladbrokes about a possible merger or takeover and this, understandably, put Hill’s nose out of joint given it has a substantial koint venture with Playtech called William Hill Online.
William Hill Online has proved a boon for the publicly-quoted British bookie, helping resuscitate its ailing online operations.
