If you love poker tournaments, the Card Player Poker Tour has the poker event for you! A total of 39 poker tournaments featuring no-limit hold’em, Omaha eight-or-better, pot-limit Omaha, and pineapple will be offered from March 30 – April 9, with buy-ins ranging from $50 to $1,100. The tournament series will include multi-table events, Survivor events, bounty events, as well as 14 mega satellites to provide players the opportunity to win their way into the main event. For the late-night crowd, there will be four Midnight Madness tournaments. Cash games are spread as well!

For the third time in so many years, the Card Player Poker Tour heads to the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Maarten, famous for its low-flying jumbo jets visible from the Sonesta Resort. Casino Royale and the great poker team from Card Player Cruises will again host the popular poker festival. Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher will be on hand to serve as hosts, while popular Zack Lawmaster is returning as the tournament director. The poker action begins Thursday, March 30 and runs through April 9. The main event, which has an $1,100 buy-in and a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool, is scheduled for April 7-9. A complete tournament schedule can be found at www.cardplayercruises.com.

Last year it was Keith Romanovitz who emerged victorious in the 2016 Card Player Poker Tour St. Maarten $1,100 buy-in, no-limit hold’em main event. The $100,000 guaranteed tournament drew a total of 125 entries to easily surpass the promised prize pool. For the win, Romanovitz was awarded the first-place prize of $33,950 as well as 264 Card Player Player of the Year points.

Located conveniently on the Island’s southwest shore in the center of Maho Village, the Sonesta hotel grounds feature a large pool area complete with swim-up bar, cascading waterfalls, a kids pool, five restaurants, multiple bars, a spa, fitness center, and tennis courts. While you are playing poker, the non-players can enjoy the beach and scheduled activities such as barbeques, movies, poolside games, an array of water sports, Bingo, a full-service casino, a nightclub, local entertainment, and much more.

The all-inclusive Sonesta Resort rates of only $155 per person (based on double occupancy), per night include a room and unlimited food, soft drinks, and alcohol. The resort features a kids’ club and daily planned activities, making it a true destination within a destination for the entire family. Guests can also choose to stay at the more luxurious (adults only) Sonesta Ocean Point Resort for $235 per person, per day. Ocean Point offers an adults-only, limitless all-inclusive vacation experience in a contemporary Caribbean-style resort. It features three pools, three bars, a stylish concept store, 24-hour room service, wellness treatments, and exemplary service from private concierges.

Just a few steps away from the resort lobby lies the largest casino on the island. Guests at Sonesta Maho have to only cross the street to get to Casino Royale’s main doors and enter into 21,000 square feet of gaming possibilities. Casino Royale is home to 21 pit game tables featuring American and French roulette, craps, blackjack, three-card poker, Let it Ride, Caribbean Poker, and Texas hold’em. Beyond the tables, patrons will find more than 400 slot machines ranging from classic games to video slots.
