CoinPoker awarded the first major titles of its $30 million guaranteed Battle of Malta Online festival this week.
The opening days featured the conclusion of the $215 CoinMillion event. The first event on the schedule featured a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. Thus, it was the largest first-place prize of the young series.
An anonymous player using the screen name “monc” topped the field. He secured a six-figure score, winning $121,500 for his efforts.

Three-Handed Deal Denied
With just three players left at the final table, a player under the name with the screen name “JohnnieTsunami” lobbies the other two finalists to make a deal. He wanted to divvy up the prize pool between the final three and secure better payouts for the second and third-place finishers.
But During the final stages of the event, third-place finisher “JohnnieTsunami” requested a deal. The remaining players rejected the proposal and play continued. As fate would have it, Tsunami hit the rail in third, leaving “monc” to win heads-up. “JohnnieTsuami” got $55,800 for third and eventual runner-up “n7v7rcapp7d” left with $77,000.
The CoinMillion event debuted during the World Poker Masters and this was its second running. However, a CoinPoker spokesperson hinted that it would be a consistent fixture on schedules.
Some Players Are Malta-Bound
The opening week produced several other champions. The user “shipitplz” won the $55 Mini CoinMillion for $20,000. Additional early victors include “agarrolaocho,” who won the Valletta 8-Max for $39,002.46, “Vorr” took the $150 CoinMasters BITCOIN title for $39,764.14, and “BAAAAMBINOOOO” captured the $320 Dark Knight PKO for $18,341.63.

Beyond digital prize pools, the platform is awarding physical trophies and 50 packages to the live Battle of Malta Autumn Edition running this October.

Players earn these packages through the Champions Trials leaderboard promotion by entering weekly online tournaments.
The festival schedule continues through Aug. 3 with several high-value guarantees remaining. The $565 Main Event anchors the series with a $2.5 million guarantee. Smaller stakes players have access to the $55 Main Challenger with a $500,000 guarantee and the $11 Main Crusader carrying a $100,000 guarantee.
Higher buy-in events scheduled for later in the week include the $1,500 CoinMasters BTC High Roller, the $5,200 Iron Throne returning on July 26, and the $530 Regs of the Round Table on July 30. Day 1 flights for the Main Event, Main Challenger, and Main Crusader run daily at 17:30 UTC, with surviving players advancing to Day 2 on Aug. 3.
