Players looking to head to Planet Hollywood Las Vegas in December for the World Series of Poker Circuit stop will have to change their plans.
After seeing a packed December poker schedule, organizers decided to cancel the series and reschedule for a later date.
The Caesars-owned property debuted a new 23-table poker room last May. The venue shuttered its original poker room in the aftermath of the pandemic.
As a result, Planet Hollywood hasn’t hosted a WSOP Circuit stop since 2019. Upon opening the new room, management announced it would once again host two WSOP Circuit stops, the first coming in December 2025.
But after looking at the schedule, organizers saw the World Poker Tour World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas and the WSOP Paradise at the Atlantis Casino Resort in the Bahamas overlapping the Circuit’s original schedule in December. Thus, they decided to reschedule the event.
Trivett Topped Last Planet Hollywood WSOP Circuit Series
The last Planet Hollywood Circuit stop was a 16-event series in November 2019. Michael Trivett won the $1,700 no-limit hold’em main event for $215,943.
It’s life-changing money for anyone. But it pales in comparison to its competition.
The WSOP Paradise boasts a $60 million guarantee for the $25,000 buy-in “super” main event. The WPT World Championship features a $10,400 main event and an $1,100 WPT Prime Championship is also on tap.
The WSOP Paradise stop runs from Dec. 4-18, while the WPT World Championship has cards in the air between Dec. 2-22.
The Planet Hollywood series was originally scheduled for Dec. 4-16.
