Maurice Hawkins Wins Record-Setting 20th WSOP Circuit Ring

Pot-Limit Omaha Victory In New Orleans Sees Hawkins Reclaim Top Spot On WSOPC Titles Leaderboard

Maurice Hawkins wins 20th WSOP Circuit gold ring.

Maurice Hawkins once again stands alone atop the World Series of Poker Circuit’s titles leaderboard.

The longtime WSOPC grinder defeated a field of 106 entries in the $600 pot-limit Omaha tournament at the 2025 WSOPC Caesars New Orleans stop, earning $14,548 and his record-setting 20th gold ring.

This victory saw Hawkins break out of a tie with Ari Engel for the tour’s title lead. Engel now sits in second place. The four-time bracelet winner earned his 19th ring back in March.

Daniel Lowery, who sits in third on the rings leaderboard with 18 WSOPC titles, was among the 16 players to cash in this event. He finished eighth for $1,647.

“I mean no disrespect to anybody else that is in the race with me, but my name is supposed to be at the top. Point blank, this is my Circuit,” Hawkins told Poker.Org live reporters on site for the event. “I respect Ari, as a matter of fact, I have been respecting him his whole career. I used to look up to him a little, and Dan is a great player, but I am supposed to be at the top.”

Hawkins already owned the top spot on the WSOPC money list with nearly $3.2 million in career cashes.

This was Hawkins’ third title and 13th final-table finish on the live circuit this year. The win earned him 120 Card Player Player of the Year points, bringing his total to 2,374. That’s good for 94th place in the overall standings presented by CoinPoker.

While 2025 has been a successful year for Hawkins on the felt, it has also featured plenty of controversy. This spring he made headlines when former backers accused him of failing to pay money that he owed.
