Ari Engel once again stands alone atop the World Series of Poker Circuit gold rings leaderboard. The Canadian poker pro won his record 19th WSOPC title less than a week after Maurice Hawkins took down the WSOPC Horseshoe Baltimore main event for a then record-tying 18th ring.

While Hawkins’ win was certainly a noteworthy story in its own right, the tournament also made headlines for a controversy surrounding the incorrect elimination of Divyam Satyarthi in third place.

Just five days after Hawkins’ victory in Baltimore, Engel came out on top in a $500 buy-in no-limit hold’em event during the 2025 WSOP Circuit Online Super Circuit in Pennsylvania.

Engel was one of 86 entries in the event, which saw him take home $10,141 and the hardware as the champion.

Several other top WSOPC title hunters also score big wins recently, including Joshua Reichard earning his 16th with a $400 H.O.R.S.E. victory at the ongoing Horseshoe Hammond stop. The same festival also saw Corey Paggeot come out on top in a $1,100 buy-in no-limit hold’em event, securing his 11th ring in the process. Paggeot now sits just outside the top ten, with fellow 11-time ring winner John Holley winning a tiebreak with a higher WSOPC earnings total ($1,027,346 to Paggeot’s $573,085).
