While summer may officially be over, the tournament poker action is just heating up at Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, Louisiana.
The 7 Clans Poker Cup Series will kick off at the state’s largest casino resort at the start of fall, with $400,000 in guaranteed prize money across 15 events held from Sept. 2-14.
While several events feature guarantees, there are a pair of tentpole tournaments during the festival that each feature six-figures in promised prize money: the $100,000 guaranteed $400 buy-in Triple Bag Bonus (starts Sept. 3) and the $150,000 guaranteed $700 no-limit hold’em main event (starts Sept. 12).
The main event features three starting flights to choose from, with day 1A beginning at 2:00 PM on Friday, Sept. 12. Days 1B and 1C kick off at 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Saturday, Sept. 13. The champion will be decided on Sunday, with play resuming at 2:00 PM. The tournament will see players begin with 40,000 in chips, with initial blind levels of 30 minutes that later increase to 45 minutes in length.
Other Series Highlights
There is also a Clash of the Clans invitational early in the festival. Other unique tournaments include a bomb pot NLH tournament and a pair of rookies events that are only open to players with less than $50,000 in recorded earnings on their tournament resumes.
Buy-ins range from $200 to $1,200, with ladies, seniors, and pot-limit Omaha offerings also on the schedule.
Coushatta Casino Resort opened in 1995, and is owned and operated by the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana. The venue is located roughly midway between New Orleans and Houston. The non-smoking poker room features 10 tables, charging ports at player’s seats, televisions throughout, food comps, and friendly staff. Outside of poker, the venue also offers more than 70 table games and thousands of slot machines, and luxurious hotel rooms.
