Bryce Yockey took down a $10,000 buy-in pot-limit Omaha tournament on Oct. 21 for his second PGT PLO Series title of 2025. He’d previously won a $15,000 buy-in during the spring iteration of this four-card festival for $218,400.
Yockey’s latest triumph saw the Californian poker pro add another $237,600 in earnings, bringing his lifetime tournament haul to more than $7.3 million,
This was the seventh final-table finish of the year for the two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner. The 480 Card Player Player of the Year points that came with this win moved Yockey into 87th place in the overall standings presented by CoinPoker.
Yockey also secured 283 PokerGO Tour points, enough to move him into fourth place in the series-long standings. This was his second cash of the festival, having also placed 12th in event no. 2.
Tough Field
The 88-entry turnout to the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino Las Vegas resulted in an $880,000 prize pool, with the top 13 finishers earning a piece. Among those who cashed were six-time bracelet winner Jeremy Ausmus (11th), three-time bracelet winner Alex Foxen (10th), two-time bracelet winner Joao Simao (8th), bracelet winner Andjelko Andrejevic (7th), and 2024 Triton Montenegro $100,000 PLO champion Christopher Frank (6th).
The final day began with just four players remaining and Canada’s Frederic Normand on top of the leaderboard. Brevin Andreadis was the first to fall. He got all-in with A♠Q♠10♥9♦ facing the A♥A♣K♠Q♦ of Norman. The 9♣8♦3♥4♥7♦ runout kept Normand’s aces best, sending Andreadis to the rail in fourth place ($79,200).
Both Matthew Wantman and Yockey doubled up through Normand during early three-handed action, with the latter showdown resulting in a new chip leader. Yockey won that hand with quads, leaving Normand as the short stack. Normand was ultimately the next player to be at risk, with his K♥K♦6♥5♦ clashing against Q♠Q♣7♠7♣ for Yockey. The board came down J♠10♥3♠7♦9♠ and Yocket wound up with a winning flush to eliminate Normand in third place ($110,000). The 2023 World Poker Tour bestbet Scramble main event champion now has more than $2.5 million in recorded earnings after adding this score.
Converting The Lead Into The Title
Heads-up play began with Yockey holding better than a 3:1 chip advantage over Wantman, a World Poker Tour champion and WSOP bracelet winner.
Wantman managed two early double-ups to keep his hopes alive, then took a stab at bluffing his way to a pot, only to run into a straight for Yockey.
Yockey remained well out in front heading into the final hand of the tournament. He raised with K♠K♥Q♠8♦ on the button and Wantman three-bet shoved from the big blind with Q♣J♥10♦7♣. Yockey made the call and the board of J♦4♠3♠7♦3♦ gave him kings up and the title.
Wantman was awarded $154,000 as the runner-up, which grew his career earnings to over $11 million.
