PokerDucks.com, an online poker site on the Boss Media network and sponsor of this year’s Irish Open winner Christer Johansson, has closed.
While no formal announcement has been made other than a brief statement on the company website which says, “Pokerducks is closed. Please contact support@pokerducks.com”, it is beleived that the site was something of a victim of its own success and may have shut due to a dispute with its network provider Boss Media.
Poker rooms with a high percentage of winning players have recently been in the spotlight with both Boss and iPoker introducing a system of fines for rooms which fail to bring new players to the game and rely on their winning players for revenue.
It is beleived PokerDucks.com fell foul of this rule with Boss Media and was unable to continue to operate.
