WSOP Circuit — Harrah's Rincon Stop Begins Today

The First Event Ties the WSOP Circuit Record for Field Size at 646


The World Series of Poker Circuit tour pulled into Harrah’s Rincon near San Diego, California, today and kicked things off with a bang. Event No. 1 ($200 no-limit hold’em) attracted 646 players, which ties a record set on Feb. 11, 2007 for the largest WSOP Circuit event ever. The tournament series will feature 22 events that will run from now until the conclusion of the $5,000 Circuit championship on Apr. 1. Ten of these events will have Card Player Player of the Year points up for grabs.

Games will be spread in limit, pot-limit, and no-limit hold’em, six-handed no-limit hold’em, Omaha eight-or-better, seven-card stud eight-or-better, pot-limit Omaha, and H.O.R.S.E. Also on the schedule is a ladies no-limit hold’em event and a seniors no-limit hold’em event. Mega-satellites will run on Sunday, Mar. 29 at noon, 3 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m.

All events begin at noon, unless they are the second event on the schedule that day. In that case they will begin at 4 p.m. Here is a look at the tournament schedule:

Monday, Mar. 23: Event No. 10 ($200 Omaha eight-or-better)
Tuesday, Mar. 24: Event No. 11 ($300 no-limit hold’em)
Tuesday, Mar. 24: Event No. 12 ($200 seven-card stud eight-or-better)
Wednesday, Mar. 25: Event No. 13 ($300 no-limit hold’em)
Wednesday, Mar. 25: Event No. 14 ($200 pot-limit Omaha w/rebuys)
Thursday, Mar. 26: Event No. 15 ($400 no-limit hold’em)
Thursday, Mar. 26: Event No. 16 ($200 H.O.R.S.E.)
Friday, Mar. 27: Event No. 17 ($500 no-limit hold’em)
Friday, Mar. 27: Event No. 18 ($1,000 no-limit hold’em)
Saturday, Mar. 28: Event No. 19 ($100 ladies no-limit hold’em)
Saturday, Mar. 28: Event No. 20 ($200 no-limit hold’em w/rebuys)
Tuesday, Mar. 31: Event No. 22 ($200 no-limit hold’em)

Event No. 21 ($5,000 no limit hold’em circuit championship)

Players begin with 20,000 in chips and the blinds start at 25-50. Levels will last for 60 minutes. Here is a look at the schedule:
