Heads Up Event Kicks off GUKPT Tomorrow

Third Leg of GUKPT Starts Tomorrow with £2,500 Heads Up Championship


Blue SquareThe 2009 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour’s third leg kicks off at London’s Grosvenor Victoria tomorrow and will run for 11 days. Side events with a wide range of buy-ins will be on offer, as will be an exclusive £2,500 heads up tournament, to complement the main event which will run from Mar. 26-29.

Twenty-three-year-old Sunny Chattha was the most recent GUKPT champion after he took down the main event of the second leg, beating 300 opponents to lift the £88,150 first prize.
 
The London Heads Up Championship kicks off the Tour tomorrow, and has a top prize of £20,000 plus a ticket for the £100,000 GUKPT Champion of Champions tournament. The popular event is already sold out however and the 16 players taking part have now been named.

Bookmaker Blue Square’s betting market currently offers outright prices, with individual match bets available from the quarter-finals onwards. The first round draw will take place just before it begins tomorrow at 3 p.m..

Defending champion Kevin O’Leary and former second place holder Marc Goodwin will not be competing, however there are plenty of other interesting participants to take a punt on, such as Neil Channing at 8/1, Surinder Sunar at 10/1, Barny Boatman at 12/1, and recent EPT German Open 15th place finisher Richard Kellett at 14/1.
