WSOP Champion Lifts Two Awards from PokerStars Ahead of EPT Copenhagen

Peter Eastgate, the 22-year old current poker world champion from Denmark, unsurprisingly won two awards at last night’s Peter EastgateScandinavian Poker Awards hosted by PokerStars.com ahead of today’s European Poker Tour Copenhagen.

Eastgate, who collected over $9 million for his victory at last year’s World Series of Poker followed by a side event win at the PokerStars Scandinavian Adventure, won Best All Round Performance of the Year and Rookie of the year.

The full list of winners were:

Best live player: Patrik Antonius (Finland)
Best online player: Ilari Sahamies (Finland)
Rookie of the year: Peter Eastgate (Denmark)
Female player of the year: Magdalena In De Betou (Sweden)
All round performance of the year: Peter Eastgate (Denmark)

The list of nominees was impressive so congratulations to the winners and good luck in today’s EPT Copenhagen where Card Player will bring you up-to-the-minute reports.
