BoylePoker IPO Seats Sell; Prize Pool Swells

Seats Selling Like Hot Cakes for the BoylePoker.com International Poker Open 2008

The International Poker Open 2008 is creating a stir this year as BoylePoker.com is adding an extra €20,000 to the prize pool, alongside 20 percent of the rake generated by pre-registered players. 700 players are already registered for the €135 + €15 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament, and as the field grows, so too do the winnings.

A prize pool of €200,000 now looks likely, therefore the champion could take home more than €50,000.

Last year the event attracted more than 1,000 players from all over Europe. This year looks to beat that record by a further 200 seats, which are expected to sell out by the end of the month.

Head of poker at the online site, Paul Spillane, said, “The excitement is palpable now. Hundreds of overseas players have booked flights and accommodation, and dozens from the UK, Ireland, and Europe are signing up every day so we expect this to sell out over the next couple of weeks. Players can see the value — full dealer dealt, professional structure, money-added — for a fraction of the usual cost. It’s going to be a fantastic event.”

The BoylePoker.com International Poker Open will run from Oct. 17 to 19 at the Regency Airport Hotel, Dublin, Ireland. Players must register for the event at the BoylePoker.com lobby before Thursday Oct. 16, but can also qualify through various events on the site for a low buy-in.
