BoylePoker.com has added €20,000 to the prize pool of the International Poker Open 2008. On top of this, it will also be adding a percentage of the rake generated by players who pre-register for the event.
The prize pool is estimated at €200,000, meaning whoever takes home first prize could well be receiving more than €50,000.
Last year, 1,000 players from far and wide came to Ireland to play in the €135+€15 no-limit hold’em tournament. Head of poker at the online site, Paul Spillane, said, “This event is exceptional in that it offers poker players a professional structure and service for an amateur fee. Every table will be dealt by a professional dealer, and it’s a great opportunity for players to experience a large live field over two days of poker for a fraction of the usual cost.”
The event will run from Oct. 17-19 at the Regency Airport Hotel in Dublin. Those wishing to take part must register on BoylePoker.com before Oct. 16. Players can buy in directly on the site, or, alternatively, qualify through one of the following low buy-in events taking place:
Fridays at 8 p.m.: $10+$1 freezeout/12 min blinds/1 seat GTD
Sundays at 8 p.m.: $5+$0.50 buy-in/1 rebuy/1 add on/10 min blinds/1 seat GTD
