Cork’s Macau Sporting Club will host the sixth annual Irish Poker Classic Festival from Aug. 11 – 17, 2008. The main event is a €150,000 guaranteed €1500 + €100 no limit hold’em tournament taking place over three days from Aug. 15.
The main event has a 15,000 chip starting stack with 75 minute blinds and the Macau is guaranteeing eight tickets at the
mega bonus satellite on Thurs. 14th.
Already confirmed for the event are Roy “The Boy” Brindley, Mick McCloskey, Sylvester Geoghegan, Marty Smyth, Paul Lecky, Nicky Power, and John Keown.
The full line up for the festival is:
Aug. 11 — 7 p.m. Mega super satellite no-limit hold’em €100 + €10 one rebuy or one add-on. 3 Seats guaranteed.
Aug. 12 — 7 p.m. No-limit hold’em €200 + €20 freezeout.
Aug. 13 — 7 p.m. Irish Poker Classic special team event (couple: one no-limit hold’em, one pot-limit Omaha) €500 + €50 freezeout. Two day event.
Aug. 14 — 7 p.m. Mega bonus super satellite Irish Poker Classic €200 + €20 Freezeout. Eight seats guaranteed.
Aug. 15 — 7 p.m. €150,000 guaranteed Irish Poker Classic main event no-limit hold’em €1500 + €100 freezeout. Three day event.
Aug. 16 — 6 p.m. Ladies event no-limit hold’em €100 + €10 freezeout.
Aug. 16 — 9 p.m. Pot-limit Omaha double chance €350 + €35 freezeout.
Aug. 17 — 7 p.m. No-limit hold’em €400 + €40 or €200 with one rebuy or one add-on.
The Macau Sporting Club will be holding weekly satellites for €75 + €5 entry with one rebuy or add-on with one seat guaranteed and the bubble given a ticket for €75 on weekly events.
€200 freezeout satellites start in May and continue through June and July after the Friday monthly €250 game.
The event attracted 122 players last year and has capacity for 250 this year.
