Qualify for European Poker Tour Grand Final Saturday

Both PokerStars and Full Tilt Are Sending Players to Europe

The PokerStars European Poker Tour Grand Final is scheduled to take place in Monte Carlo April 12-17, and there are still chances for American players to get in on the biggest annual poker tournament to be held in Europe.

Last year’s winner, Gavin Griffin, qualified for the EPT Grand Final through PokerStars, and he flew back home to the States with more than $2.4 million and a trophy just about as big as he is. The buy-in for the Grand Final, depending on currency rates next month, is about $16,000.

Both PokerStars and Full Tilt are spreading qualifiers to send players to the EPT Grand Final with main qualifiers for each site taking place Saturday. PokerStars will continue to run steps qualifiers that start at $7.50 after its main qualifier. Players advance through the steps by stringing together a series of wins and high finishes in the steps. Win the sixth step (which costs $2,100 to buy into directly), and win a $19,250 prize package to the Grand Final.

On Saturday at 3 p.m. ET, PokerStars is holding a $1,050 EPT Grand Final qualifier wherein as many prize packages as possible will be awarded. Satellites into this qualifier are now taking place. The buy-ins are $9.99, $11, $27, and $109. (All but the $109 tourney are rebuy events.) Satellites with buy-ins of $5.50 (plus rebuys) award seats into the $109 tourneys.

Also on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET, Full Tilt is holding a $322 qualifier wherein at least one $20,000 package will be won. Full Tilt is holding four more qualifying tournaments into its $322 event from now until then: a $26 turbo freezeout today at 5:05 p.m. ET and three more tomorrow, including a $75 turbo freezeout at 11:05 p.m. ET, a $26 freezeout at 1:05 p.m. ET, and $75 freezeout at 3:05 p.m. ET.

Full Tilt offers many different ways to win both the $26 and $75 satellite tickets, which can be used to buy into these events. Those token satellites start for as little as $2.25, but most will win their tickets through $6.60 and $8.80 two-table qualifiers.
