The PartyPoker.com Premier League starts its TV run on Channel 4 in the UK and Ireland tonight at 12.10 a.m., while the European Cup begins on Five tomorrow at 11.55 p.m.
The first Premier League show sees some towering names of the modern game, including Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott, Tony G, Phil Hellmuth, and Marcel Luske. Commentary is provided by Jesse May, and a clip of the event can be found here.
The Matchroom Sports organised European Open IV the following night sees players such as Liam Flood, Roy Brindley, Roland De Wolfe, Neil Channing, and Surinder Sunar compete in the $7,000 buy-in event, which created a prize pool of $504,000. The event spans 12 heats, two semifinals, and a final.
