230 Players Reduced to 82 on Day 1A; 230 Return for Day 1B Today


The PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Scandinavian Open, being held in Casino Copenhagen in the Danish capital, is, perhaps unsurprisingly, being dominated by players from the region.

The €6,700 buy-in event is a sell-out with 230 players competing on both of the two day ones, but only 82 made it through day 1A.
Team PokerStars pro Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier faced an early exit, as did Annette Obrestad. Daniel Negreanu was ousted by Noah Boeken, and Julian Thew and Gus Hansen also hit the rail before the close of play.

Bill Chen was the leading American at the end of day 1A with 40,300, and Alex Kravchenko is also sitting on a solidBill Chen is the leading American after day 1A 40,500. Recent Scandinavian award-winners Tronde Erik Eidsvig and Jonas Danielsson are also in the top 20, while Barny Boatman is the leading UK representative.
