888 Sees Poker Revenue Rise 16 Percent

Fourth Quarter Poker Revenue Rises to $21.4 Million as Casino Shines

888 Holdings PLC, the second-largest online gaming company in the UK, today said fourth-quarter revenue rose by 55 percent to $62.8 million as both the Pacific Poker and Casino-on-Net brands continued to flourish.

Poker revenue grew 16 percent in the fourth quarter of 2007 to $21.4 million while casino was up 60 percent to $35 million. Active customers across both platforms were up 26 percent to $270.

The company withdrew from the U.S. market in 2006 as a result of legislative changes there and subsequently lost half its revenues. It has since committed to growing sales through additional platforms across Europe and Asia with sports betting and casino being the focus.

Overall annual sales at the company were boosted 36 percent to $213 million, driven by a one-third increase in casino revenues to $118 million. The U.S. ban wiped out about half of 888’s revenue.

Shares in the company were up 4.5p to 136.50p at 14.30 GMT.
