Event No. 1 Has a Prize Pool Over $1 Million


The Full Tilt Online Poker Series VII (FTOPS) started off with a bang last night when it’s first event generated a prize pool of just over $1 million. The event, a $750,000-guaranteed no-limit hold’em tournament, attracted 5,319 runners, 738 of which stood to get paid. The first-place finisher was going to leave the table with an extra $184,000 in his account.

After 5,317 other entrants had hit the rail, it was only Cwdric and cashmaker81 left. Cashmaker81 eventually landed the final blow to collect the full first-place prize, the exclusive gold FTOPS jersey, and the gold FTOPS jersey avatar.

There are two FTOPS events playing out today. The first is event No. 2, a $100,000-guaranteed $240+$16 buy-in no-limit hold’em knockout (bounty) tournament, which starts at 2 p.m. ET. The second is event No. 3, a $300,000-guaranteed $500+$35 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. tournament, which starts at 6 p.m. ET.
