Qualify for European Deep Stack Poker Championship This Sunday

Final Chances to Qualify as Green Joker Poker Deep-Stack Event Nears


Qualification for the Green Joker Poker European Deep Stack Poker Championship enters its final stage ahead of start of the innovative event at the Drogheda Poker Club, Drogheda, Ireland, from Feb. 2-10, 2008.

Sunday at 9.30 p.m. sees a $100+$9 rebuy online grand final being held on Green Joker Poker, Bluesquare, Paddy Power, Blonde Poker, and Uncoverpoker.

They are fed by $10 rebuys at 3.30 p.m., 7.50 p.m., and 12.50 a.m., which are in turn fed by freerolls that run at 10.30 a.m., 3 p.m., and 8 p.m. every day.Barny Boatman travels to Drogheda for the European Deep Stack Poker Championship

A strong lineup for the €1,500 main event, which starts on Feb. 6, is already taking shape and includes Poker Million champion Joe Beevers and fellow Hendon Mobster Barny Boatman, and five members of The Hitsquad.

Also confirmed are World Series of Poker bracelet winner Praz Bansi, fellow Bluesquare-sponsored Karl Mahrenholz, Sunny Chatta, Tony Phillips, and Priyan Del Mel, EPT Baden and GUKPT Champion Julian Thew, well-known UK players David Lloyd and Jim Reid, and last year’s champion Jen Mason.

The main event sees players begin with 50,000 in chips and a one-hour clock.

The festival kicks off with a two-day shorthanded hold’em event on Feb. 2 with a one-hour clock and 20,000 in starting chips, while the Omaha event on Feb. 4 also has a one-hour clock and 20,000 in starting chips.

Players wishing to choose their starting day for the main €1,500 event will need to book soon. Also, the €500+€50 shorthanded no-limit hold’em event is filling very fast. This unique six-player multitable format is proving popular, and players wishing to take part should reserve their places now.
