PokerStars.net is giving its players a chance to win a $20,000 seat into the 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship. All but four seats into this tournament are invitation-only, and PokerStars is giving all its new and existing PokerStars.net players two chances to win their way in. It works like this:
Each new and existing player receives an entry into each of the two NHUPC qualifiers that take place every day at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET (that’s two entries total). These qualifiers run from now until Feb. 22. In these daily tourneys, 200 players advance into round two of this competition, which takes place once a week. The first one is to be held Saturday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. ET.
Finish in the top 50 in this tournament and you’ll advance to the main qualifier, which takes place Sunday, Feb. 24. The last player standing in this tourney wins one of the most sought-after seats of the poker year. Along with the $20,000 seat, PokerStars will also give the players four nights’ accommodation and $1,000 for traveling.
The qualifiers can be found by clicking “events” at the top of the box, then “special.” The easiest way to find the tourneys is to sort them by name.
