The final of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour gets under way today with Marc Goodwin playing Kevin O'Leary for the title, the £20,000 first prize, and a seat in the GUKPT grand final which starts tomorrow, Nov. 29. The runner-up receives £12,000.
O'Leary defeated Will Mitchell in his semi-final match in a game which lasted just over 90 minutes, while Goodwin bested Huseyin Yilmaz in just under two hours.
Sponsors of the event, Blue Square, have created a market for the final, making both players 5/6.
The event started with 32 players each paying £1,000 while Blue Square added £10,000 to bolster the prize pool to £58,000.
Neil "Bad Beat" Channing, Surinder Sunar, Jeff Duvall, and Adam Heller were the beaten quarter-finalists. Each earned £3,500. Yilmaz and Mitchell each took £6,000 for their third- and fourth-place finishes.
