PokerStars today revealed Boris Becker as the new face representing the company at online and live tournaments. Becker, the winner of six grand slam tennis events, will also star in an upcoming TV commercial.
The three-time Wimbledon Men's Champion, speaking about his transition from tennis to poker, said, "When I was still playing professional tennis, I started learning to play poker casually in between games, because it helped me to improve my concentration. Now, I want to develop my poker skills and challenge myself to become really competitive at the highest levels in poker."
Becker will undergo a training program to improve his poker abilities before taking part in the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour (EPT) in Dortmund from Jan. 29-Feb. 2, 2008 and the Grand Finale in Monte Carlo from April 12-17.
