Anonymous Poker Player Has $1 Million Upswing At CoinPoker

Unknown Crushes Pot-Limit Omaha Games For Seven Figures

I’ve covered high-stakes poker for some time, but nothing quite prepared me for this week, and I wasn’t even at my desk for most of it.

I was in a hospital room, laptop closed, ignoring the alerts from CoinPoker. My attention was fixed on something infinitely more important, the birth of my first child. Whilst the high-stakes games raged and six-figure pots were traded back and forth, I was watching a new life begin.

Welcome to the game, Magnus Anton James!

Now, bleary-eyed and wide awake in a different way (getting by on two hours sleep) I’m back. And what a week to return to.

Whilst I was away, an anonymous gambler going by NV22 sat down at CoinPoker’s $1,000-$2,000 Pot-Limit Omaha games and caused utter devastation.

In the space of just a few sessions, he faced off against some of the game’s most feared names, including Laszlo “omaha4rollz” Bujtás and GucciNIKE, and emerged with nearly $1,000,000 in profit.

And he did it with style. What follows is a breakdown of the hands that built one of the most extraordinary weeks ever witnessed in the CoinPoker nosebleeds.

Hand 1: Fours Full, Sir.

Players: omaha4rollz (SB) vs NV22 (BB)
Effective stacks: ~$500,000

Pre-flop:

omaha4rollz raises to $6,000
NV22 calls
Pot: $13,000

Flop: 8Club Suit 4Spade Suit 4Diamond Suit

NV22 checks
omaha4rollz bets $4,000
NV22 calls
Pot: $21,000

Turn: 2Heart Suit

NV22 checks
omaha4rollz bets $15,000
NV22 raises to $65,000
omaha4rollz calls
Pot: $151,000

River: 10Diamond Suit

NV22 bets $150,000
omaha4rollz calls

Showdown:

NV22: QSpade Suit 8Diamond Suit 4Heart Suit 10Club Suit — Full house, fours full of tens
omaha4rollz: ASpade Suit 9Club Suit 4Club Suit 3Diamond Suit — Three of a kind, fours

Result: NV22 wins $451,000

Comment: A bold river bet from NV22, extracting maximum value against one of the game’s toughest. I really enjoy seeing the turn raise here from “NV22” and gets max value on the river too.

Hand 2: Straight Over Straight

Players: GucciNIKE (SB) vs NV22 (BB)
Stacks: $212,800 vs $378,155

Pre-flop:

GucciNIKE raises to $6,000

Pot: $13,000

Flop: 6Spade Suit 10Club Suit JSpade Suit

NV22 checks
GucciNIKE bets $9,675

NV22: 4Spade Suit QClub Suit 7Diamond Suit 9Club Suit — Straight, eight to queen

Result: NV22 wins $425,500

Comment: Both players turn the straight but NV22 continues the tear with the better straight. GucciNIKE needed a Queen for help but did not receive it
.

NV22: 5Club Suit 4Diamond Suit 3Club Suit 10Heart Suit — Full house, tens full of threes

Result: GucciNIKE wins $572,380

Comment: A pure cooler. NV22 had the second-best full house and couldn’t get away and neither should he!

Who Is NV22?

No one knows. He arrived without a name, played without hesitation, and left with one of the biggest wins in CoinPoker history which is becoming a top site for PLO.

Poker remains one of the last great meritocracies. While I welcomed a child into the world, NV22 emerged in a very different way. Unreal welcome to CoinPoker.

Anyone can do it. All it takes is one good week.
