The 2007 World Series of Poker Europe, presented by Betfair.com, kicks off in London this Thursday, Sept. 6 with the three-day £2,500 H.O.R.S.E. event at The Casino at The Empire, Leicester Square.
The Empire will also host a two-day £5,000 pot-limit Omaha tournament starting Sept. 8, and the series culminates with the WSOPE main event – a six-day £10,000 no-limit hold'em tournament – beginning at The Empire, The Sportsman and Fifty on Sept. 10.
The playing field will be consolidated from Sept. 13 at The Empire. From Sept. 1, registration for all WSOPE events is only available at The Casino at The Empire in Leicester Square.
- Registration closes for H.O.R.S.E. at 1 p.m. on Sept. 6.
- Registration closes for P.L.O. at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8.
- Registration closes for the main event at 1 p.m. on Sept. 10.
Players can pick up their seat assignments for the £10,000 (+£350) main event at the WSOPE desk in The Casino at The Empire reception.
The Casino at The Empire opens at noon daily and closes at 6 a.m.
Seat assignments for the H.O.R.S.E. and pot-limit Omaha event will be allocated 30 minutes prior to the event and available on the plasma-screen TVs in The Casino at The Empire.
Among those registered for the inaugural WSOPE are Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Erik Seidel, Eli Elezra, Gus Hanson, Jennifer Harman, Allen Cunningham, Howard Lederer, and Jamie Gold.
The last chance for players to qualify online is with www.betfair.com Sept. 5, at 8 p.m. BST. For a buy-in of $525, Betfair.com is guaranteeing five $23,000 packages. Satellites for this tournament, boasting a variety of structures, can be found in the lobby of the Betfair poker client.
