Last night's event in the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) V was a $200 buy-in $200,000-guaranteed sixhanded limit hold'em event, the only limit hold'em event in the series. Limit hold'em tournaments tend to draw smaller crowds, but this tournament still managed to beat out its guarantee when 1,171 entrants bucked up the buy-in to generate a prize pool of $234,200.
Full Tilt-sponsored pro Eddy Scharf made it deep in the event before busting out just shy of the final table in 10th place, earning $3,396. Other notable players who made it deep include Tim "cane3418" Seidensticker (eighth, $4,848), Michael "castellimich" Castelli (11th, $2,459), ShiP ThA LooT (16th, $1,499), and Gabriel "yellowhat" Nassif (19th, $1,241). Donhaka and pokerandmadden ended up heads up in the tournament at the final table and pokerandmadden fell to donhaka in the final hand. Donhaka pocketed the $47,894 first-place prize and an exclusive gold FTOPS jersey avatar for winning the event.
The final results were:
1) donhaka – $47,894
2) pokerandmadden – $31,617
3) jaybert99 – $22,249
