Heartland Poker Tour Launching Points League

Heartland Poker League Coming this Fall

The people behind the wildly successful Heartland Poker Tour have launched the Heartland Poker League, a small-buy-in tournament series that will take place in participating casinos around the country starting this fall.

The league will work like this: Each week, participating casinos will host tournaments that cost $50 to $100 to enter. Seasons will run in 12-week increments, and after the end of 12 weeks, a league champion will be crowned according to a points system.

The league champion will be awarded an entry into the Heart Land Poker Tour's championship event, worth $2,700. The championship takes place in December at the Majestic Star Casino in Gary, Indiana.

A website tracking casino leader boards and results is in the process of being launched. The HPT is still lining up casinos to participate, but it already has partnerships with casinos all across the Midwest, including Northern Lights Casino in Minnesota (near Walker); Golden Gates Casino in Blackhawk, Colorado; Lucky Nugget Card Club in Deadwood, South Dakota; and Meskwaki Bingo Casino in Tama, Iowa.

The full launch of the Heart Poker League's website will take place sometime this month, but the starting page can be found at heartlandpokerleague.net.
