Video shot by casino patrons and shared on social media shows water soaking the poker room, spilling out of the light fixtures as cardroom employees scrambled to move furniture and equipment. The water damage even spread to other parts of the casino, including a row of blackjack tables nearby.
The $2.5 billion Encore Boston Harbor only opened three months ago on June 23, and at 33-acres, was the largest private construction project in the history of the state.
The poker room features 74 tables, a six-table VIP section, and a dedicated seven-window cashier cage.
