The $3,000 no-limit hold’em shootout event at the 2017 World Series of Poker drew a field of 369 players, creating a total prize pool of $996,300. In the end, the title and the $229,923 first-place prize went to Katy, Texas resident Upeshka De Silva.

This was the 29-year-old’s second career bracelet. In 2015, he took down a $1,500 no-limit hold’em event for $424,577. De Silva, who was born in Sri Lanka, now has more than $1.7 million in career tournament earnings.

To win the event, a player had to win three consecutive single-table tournaments. Everyone who won their first table finished in the money and was guaranteed at least $6,407.

Notables at the final table included Taylor Paur (10th), Jean Gaspard (9th), Olivier Busquet (5th) and Jan Schwippert (4th).
