FTOPS IV Event No. 5: $100,000-Guaranteed H.O.S.E.
The fifth event in the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) IV, a $100,000-guaranteed H.O.S.E. tournament, reinforced two facts: first, that the FTOPS series is undeniably successful, and second, that mixed games are of continuously growing interest to the poker-playing community.
The H.O.S.E. tournament (which includes the games hold'em, Omaha eight-or-better, seven-card stud, and seven-card stud eight-or-better) had 651 entrants to generate a prize pool of $130,200, 30 percent more than guaranteed. Some prominent Internet pros made it into the money in the event (which had 56 paying places), including: mman_status (26th), Casey "bigdogpckt5s" Jarzabek (27th), and Ari "I Am Ari" Engel (32nd), each making $846. The deepest-finishing red-named Full Tilt-sponsored pro (and the only Full Tilt pro to make the money) was Allen Cunningham, who came in in 43rd place, earning $749.
Cardsharps_net took down the event after beating AC Pro heads up. He earned $32,550 for his accomplishment, along with an exclusive gold FTOPS jersey avatar to show off his accomplishment later on the virtual felt.
