About Ignition Poker
Ignition Poker was established back in 2016 and has cemented itself as one of the best and most popular US-facing poker sites out there.
A branch of the PaiWangLuo Poker Network – the fourth largest in the US – Ignition Poker began life as Bodog Poker in the early 2000s. This later became Bovada, and finally morphed into Ignition Poker. All three named sites still exist, with Ignition being their US platform, and sharing a poker player pool with Bovada.
Ignition online poker traffic is impressive. With its generous guarantees and multiple game options, it’s easy to see why. Throw in a soft player base, features such as anonymous tables, and fast payments, and it’s clear how Ignition Poker has maintained its popularity in recent years.
Update – in 2026 a viral video posted by Martin Zamani appeared to show a ring of bots operating on Ignition, which caused the site to take a hit to its reputation.
Pros
- Massive player base and game traffic
- Huge variety of games to choose from
- Fast deposits and withdrawals
- Soft games
Cons
- No rakeback
- No player-tracking tools
Ignition Poker Bonuses
One of the reasons Ignition Poker is so popular is because it has a range of excellent bonuses, including a welcome bonus worth up to $1,500 (or $3,000, including casino games) and some awesome freerolls with prize pools up to $2,500.
Welcome Bonus
The site boasts one of the best sign-up offers for new players on the market, when using the right Ignition Poker promo code. In fact, once you download Ignition Poker, you’ll have a choice of two.
If you deposit using crypto, you’ll get a 100% matched bonus up to $1,500. If you go for a more traditional debit card, you’ll get the same bonus but only up to the value of $1,000.
When signing up, be wary of the headline that claims to offer up to $3,000 as a bonus—this can only be unlocked with a combination of casino and poker play. Despite its generous size, the window in which to receive this bonus is relatively short: you have 30 days to play enough to claim it, and it’s paid in small chunks.
You’ll unlock $1 of your bonus for every 30 Ignition Miles, which you can earn by playing any cash game or tournament. Just make sure to use the Ignition Poker bonus code of IGWPCB150 to claim.
| Bonus Name: | Welcome Bonus |
| Bonus Amount: | Up to $1,500 |
| Min. Deposit | $20 |
| Max. Withdrawal | None specified |
| Ignition Poker Bonus Code | IGWPCB150 |
Ignition Poker Rake
Rake stands at 5% across all cash games, but the cap is dependent on the amount of players playing and the stakes on offer. For example, for a $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold’em game, there’s a $0.50 cap when two players are at the table. This rises to $2 when there’s a six-player cap.
SNG games again feature 5% rake, Jackpot Sit & Gos is 7%, and MTTs can range from 7%-10%. In our expert view, the Ignition Poker rakeback only represents fair value in cash games. Unfortunately, game formats such as spin and MTTs have a high rake, and therefore give less bang for your buck.
Here’s the full breakdown of No Limit and Pot Limit Ignition Poker rake:
Cash games up to and including $0.10/$0.25
| Players | Rake | Rake Cap |
| 2 | $0.01 per $0.20 in the pot | $0.50 |
| 3-4 | $0.01 per $0.20 in the pot | $1.00 |
| 5+ | $0.01 per $0.20 in the pot | $2.00 |
Cash games above $0.10/$0.25
| Players | Rake | Rake Cap |
| 2 | $0.01 per $0.20 in the pot | $1.00 |
| 3 | $0.01 per $0.20 in the pot | $2.00 |
| 4-5 | $0.01 per $0.20 in the pot | $3.00 |
| 6+ | $0.01 per $0.20 in the pot | $4.00 |
Unfortunately, at the time of our Ignition Poker review, there’s no official rakeback scheme.
Ignition Poker Loyalty Scheme
The Ignition online poker platform sits alongside casino games, giving more ways to earn loyalty points. You can reach varying levels, from Steel to Diamond.
In the absence of Ignition Poker rakeback, this loyalty scheme is a great way to get extra rewards. You’ll be opted in automatically without needing any Ignition Poker bonus codes.
You’ll earn points, known as Ignition Miles, by simply playing poker at the site, with more points given for paying more rake. These points can be swapped for rewards, such as generous cash bonuses and tournament tickets.
You’ll get 15 Ignition Miles for every $1 you pay in cash game rake or tournament fees. To climb the ranks to the top, you’ll need a significant amount. For example, the Titanium level, which sits below the very top Diamond level, requires 1,000,000 Lifetime Miles in order to qualify. Although a lucrative promo, be mindful that the rewards system is heavily geared towards casino players.
Ignition Poker Freerolls
One of the most popular aspects of Ignition is its weekly freeroll, where you can win a share of $2,500 without staking a cent. It runs every Thursday at 21:05 (ET), and you can find your ticket in your Rewards Dashboard. Be quick, as this 7,000-capacity tournament fills up lightning-fast.
We also noticed a newer freeroll during our Ignition Poker review, called the Social Media Freeroll with $250 on the line. At most sites, you’d need to like or repost something by the poker site to get in. At Ignition, you just have to follow them on X or Instagram to get the password.
Other Promotions
There are plenty of other top poker bonuses and offers, some of which require Ignition Poker promo codes, and some which are applied automatically. Once you’re signed up, you can view all of them from your account page.
The Bad Beat Bonus is a mainstay of Ignition Poker, awarding up to $1,000. If you’re unlucky (or, in this case, lucky) enough to lose with a full house of aces full of kings or better, you’ll receive compensation of 100x the big blind. Both winning and losing hands must make it to showdown for this to happen, though.
The Royal Flush Bonus is another fun offer which runs constantly on Hold’em cash games. Make a Royal Flush using your two hole cards and you’ll receive 50 times the big blind up to $200. Three or more players must be participating in the hand, and, crucially, you don’t even need to get to showdown to qualify for it. Plus, there’s no wagering on the bonus, which means you can cash it out right away.
How to Download Ignition Poker
If it’s your first time playing at Ignition, or you’ve only tried the instant-play version and want to make the jump to the downloadable software, here’s how to do it. And don’t forget the promo code we gave you earlier in our Ignition Poker review (IGWPCB150).
- Visit the official Ignition Poker website
- Create your account by clicking on the “Join” button, and fill in your details
- Return to the Ignition website, navigate to the poker section and click “Download”
- Install the software and log in with your details
- Make a deposit using the Ignition Poker bonus code IGWPCB150
- Head to the lobby and register for a game
You can also play Ignition Poker with no download by clicking “Play Now” from the main website.
Anonymous Poker at Ignition
One of the most unique and appealing features of Ignition Poker is its use of anonymous tables. Across the vast majority of poker sites, you’ll use a pseudonym to identify yourself. But not here.
Most platforms also allow you to take notes on other players, to be used again and again when up against them. Due to the anonymity at Ignition Poker, this is impossible. When entering a game, players are simply labeled as player 1, player 2, player 3, etc.
Every time you sit down at a table, you’ll start with a clean slate. You play the cards and the opponent in front of you, with nobody having an edge or an advantage from the outset. You can’t look up a player’s stats either – creating a ‘pure’ form of the game where you’re coming in blind to other players’ abilities.
Playing without these stats and any additional info is perfect if you’re a beginner or intermediate player. Although a double-edged sword, this captivating feature makes Ignition Poker stand out from the crowd.
Ignition Poker Games
We found games running 24/7 during our Ignition Poker review, with games including Hold’em, PLO, and Hi/Lo – plus a bunch of interesting formats, from hyper turbos to monster stacks.
Here are the different types of poker you can paly at Ignition:
Tournaments
There are plenty of tournaments to choose from throughout the week. During the day, the bigger scheduled games start around 14:00, and evening games around 20:00 (ET).
Day tournaments have buy-ins starting from $11, with guaranteed prize pools between $3,000 and $12,000. Evening versions have higher buy-ins of around $55, and with this the prize pool guarantees also rise – ranging from between $5,000 and $30,000.
The tournament offer is available across all popular game variants such as Texas Hold’em and Omaha (including Hi/Lo). So, whatever your game of choice is, you’ll find it here.
Tournament formats at Ignition Poker include:
- Standard
- Knockout
- Monster Stack
- Hyper Turbos
- Jackpot Sit and Gos
- Double / Triple Up
We found that tournaments at all levels and pay ranges are popular across the board, and at all times, meaning that you’re guaranteed action no matter what.
Another distinctive component of Ignition Poker tournaments is that rebuys are not permitted for most of their events. Admirably, this has helped to create a more level playing field and fairer competition overall. You’re forced to rely on your skill and strategy instead of a gung-ho approach, as you don’t have the safety of a rebuy to fall back on.
This is in stark contrast to most top online poker rooms, where rebuys are available on almost all events, presumably because it means more money for the site.
Cash Games
Cash games at Ignition Poker are limited to Texas Hold’em (Fixed Limit and No-Limit), PLO, and Omaha Hi/Lo (also Pot Limit).
NL Hold’em and Omaha games have stakes that range from $0.02/$0.05 to $10/$20, while Limit Hold’em games offer stakes from $0.05/$0.10 all the way up to $40/$80.
If cash games are your preference, then you can choose from playing at six-handed, nine-handed, and heads-up tables. We found that the 6-max tables had the most action.
Ignition Poker focuses on the customer experience. It tailors its platform to make it as easy to use as possible, while protecting recreational players from ‘bumhunting’. Cash games are another example of this: instead of waiting in the lobby for a game to begin, you can use filters such as stake level and table size. You’re then swiftly placed in a game, using their ‘Quick Seat’ feature.
Texas Hold’em
The Ignition online poker lobby has tons of Texas Hold’em games to play, and is the most popular option by far. Around 70% of all poker played at Ignition Poker is at a Texas Hold’em table. It’s also the way most of us first learn how to play poker.
The many ways to play Hold’em at Ignition include progressive knockout games, Sunday Majors, and cash games.
Omaha
Ignition Poker offers Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) and No Limit Omaha (NLO) games, as well as Hi/Lo. You’ll also find Omaha Sit & Gos.
The SNG formats at Ignition include:
- Turbo
- 6-man
- 18-man
- Heads Up
- Double Up
- Triple Up
Perhaps the most popular of all the SNG offers is the Jackpot Sit and Go. This game automatically begins when three players enter. The prize pool is randomly generated before the first hand is played, and buy-ins can be multiplied by up to 1,200x. These are especially popular with amateur players, due to the fast pace and short stacks.
Other Formats
One of the most distinctive features available at Ignition Poker is Zone Poker, where games are played at breakneck speed.
In a Zone Poker game, as soon as you fold a hand you are immediately moved on to another table, with new cards, a new position, and new opponents. This is different to the typical poker experience where, after folding a hand, you have to sit out and wait patiently for your next chance at the jackpot.
Zone Poker changes all of this. The action comes thick and fast, and even the time you have to decide on what to do with a hand is cut – 15 seconds as opposed to the usual 30. Playing more hands, more quickly, also earns you more Ignition Miles.

Ignition Poker Features
During our Ignition Poker review, we saw a lot of useful features, from anonymous tables to customizable decks and Rabbit Cam.
Here are some of the best features at Ignition Poker:
- Anonymous tables. Every time you sit down, your name and those of your opponents are disguised – so nobody can track your history.
- Instant play. You can start playing poker without downloading any software, which makes it much easier for casual players to try a hand or two.
- Custom decks and backgrounds. Change the felt color or design of the in-game cards to make the table feel more personalized.
- Rabbit Cam. If you’ve made a tough laydown and want to know what would’ve come out, you can use the Rabbit Cam to see which cards would’ve been dealt.
- Quick seat. Choose your stakes and get the next open seat with no waiting around. This means faster access to games, and less player targeting.
- Quick chat. Ignition Poker doesn’t go overboard with the gimmicks, but has a few emojis and other quick chat features to help you communicate quickly.
- All-in percentages. Once you’re all-in, you’ll be able to see your exact odds – and those of your opponents – so you know how likely you are to win.
- Player notes. Even though games are anonymous, you’re still able to take player notes for a single tournament or session. Once it ends, the notes are gone.
Ignition Poker Series and Tournaments
One of the most impressive things we saw in out Ignition Poker review was the enormous choice of series and huge events. And one of the best they have is the Golden Spade Poker Open (GSPO).
Established over 10 years ago, this month-long event, held annually, has big guarantees across hundreds of tournaments, with the 2024 edition boasting over $12m in prize money. The GSPO culminates in a Main Event which typically has a guarantee of over $1 million. This is enough to compete with the top series at the best online poker sites.
The Black Diamond Poker Open is another chance to win big in a major MTT. The 2025 Main Event had $314,000 GTD, with series buy-ins ranging from $11 to $1,055.
Some of the most prestigious Ignition Poker tournaments are those that make up the Triple Header Sunday, where three events have a combined guaranteed prize pool of $275,000. There’s also the lucrative Sunday $200,000 Guarantee – the platform’s largest weekly event.
Finally, Mad Monday takes place each week. This is where you can join satellite tournaments for relatively low stakes, with the chance of winning a ticket to an event with up to $200,000 in guarantees.
Quality of Players at Ignition Poker
Even though it’s been around since 2016, Ignition Poker still has plenty of inexperienced players. Two key reasons for this are the fact that many players pop over from the casino, and because the software is quite basic and beginner-friendly.
A self-styled ‘Shark-free zone’, Ignition Poker has dedicated itself to ensuring recreational players feel comfortable playing at their tables – and that’s why they’ve kept tables anonymous.
Ignition Poker even limits multi-tabling, with a maximum of four cash game tables at once. They’re more lenient with MTTs, though, as you can join 20 at once. Additional third-party software is restricted, and ‘bumhunting’ – where experienced players seek out softer players to beat – is strictly prohibited.
The player pool is soft and amateur, on the whole. These regulations have contributed to the overall success of the site, as players feel comfortable at the tables – and this is proven in the enormous traffic levels the platform receives.
Poker Strategy for Playing at Ignition Poker
While the quality of other players isn’t immense, you still need to use solid poker strategy if you want to emerge a winner. So, we’ve included some straightforward tips for winning as part of our Ignition Poker review.
Here are four tips to help you at the Ignition Poker tables.
Keep an eye on your bankroll
If you’re making a deposit and betting the whole lot each time you play, you’re unlikely to get a proper bankroll. Instead, try to play at lower stakes, so you have at least 50 or more tournament buy-ins left behind.
Tweak the settings to your preferences
Familiarize yourself with the lobby, the layout and the ‘feel’ of the site before diving into gameplay, and edit your betting buttons so you can act more quickly and precisely.
Study your hand ranges
Knowing what hands you’ll play pre-flop, later on in the hand and from different positions will only help you feel more settled once in a game. Feel free to use hand charts as a study tool to help with this – but ideally not during the game.
Make a plan for bet sizing
We’ve all come across players who either bet too little or too much – don’t be this person. Accurate and consistent betting will project an image of calm and considered play – very important when at an ‘anonymous’ table, where first impressions count double.
Lobby and Software
The Ignition Poker software is fairly basic, and we think that’s intentional. The simple, stripped-back look is so easy to follow that even first-time players can get the hang of it right away.
The site is solid and functional, with a sleek red and black color scheme which is both visually effective and matches the site’s efficient layout. Whether you’re experienced on poker sites or a first-timer, the simplistic design means you won’t get lost or confused after first logging into the Ignition Poker lobby.
There are four main game types in the Ignition lobby:
- Tournaments
- Sit n Gos (SNGs)
- Cash Games
- Zone Poker
These sit along the top of the page. Once clicked on, a drop-down appears when you can narrow your choice of game.
Once at the tables, there are some options to customize the aesthetic, such as by changing the deck or the table theme. You can also request your hand history, which takes up to 24 hours to arrive.
Ignition Poker App
In addition to the instant-play option, you can also play Ignition Poker on your mobile. It’s similar to the sleek and functional lobby in the web version. Games are easy to find, and tabs are self-explanatory.
We’re saying Ignition poker app, but there’s no actual download required – the site can be reached and accessed with a responsive in-browser version of the client.
Safety and Customer Support at Ignition Poker
Ignition Poker is a trustworthy operator, having been in the business for many years. Since 2024, they’ve held a license from the Anjouan Offshore Finance Authority – a regulator known for its reliability.
You don’t become one of the leading US-facing poker sites without exemplary customer service. When seeking support, our experts found that finding customer care was simple, and the assistance given was clear and helpful. They can be contacted in the following ways:
- 24/7 live chat
- Email support
- Online contact form
- FAQs
Ignition Poker KYC Process
Verification is required when signing up to Ignition Poker to ensure that all legalities are upheld. The good news is, upon clicking ‘Join’ and registering your details, you’re pretty much verified.
The only real action required on your part is to confirm a code that Ignition will send to your phone. Once this is done, the verification is complete. There are some cases where further documents are required, like when you hit a big win early on – but they’re all pretty standard checks.
In these cases, you’ll get a notification informing you of what’s needed for verification. You’ll be asked to upload a government-issued ID, such as a passport or driver’s license, alongside proof of facial recognition, which can be done through your phone’s camera.
The list of KYC documents which may be requested is:
- A government-issued photo ID
- Proof of address
- Front and back of a specific card
- Credit card verification form
Ignition Poker is licensed by a legitimate and government-sanctioned gaming operator and is renowned as an established and trusted site for gamers. It has operated in the gambling industry since 2013, and has a strong fan base. That speaks volumes.
Ignition Poker Personal Review
If you want to play poker online in the US, you can’t ignore Ignition Poker. Its huge traffic indicates that fans are loving it. From my experience (both before and during this Ignition Poker review), I have to admit I can see how and why they’re maintaining their popularity.
I liked the efficient software, unique game options such as Zone Poker, and above all, their emphasis on retaining recreational players. Quick seating and anonymous tables are just two ways in which Ignition Poker looks after its customer base.
Add to this a huge array of cash, tournament and SNG options with consistent traffic – particularly with Jackpot games – and I couldn’t be more content with my poker experience at Ignition Poker.
