Why Play at CoinPoker?
CoinPoker shows that blockchain technology can be successfully incorporated into an online gaming platform. It’s an evolving entity, so it’s not perfect. The poker site is currently leading the way when it comes to cryptocurrency payments, transparency, and security.
As you read through my CoinPoker review, keep these three things in mind:
- CoinPoker’s software is built on a blockchain, so its RNG is provably fair.
- CoinPoker rake is low, and it offers 33% rakeback.
- Some countries can deposit with fiat or crypto, others are limited to just crypto payments
- Get 33% online poker rakeback every Monday

About CoinPoker
CoinPoker is a cryptocurrency poker site that launched real-money games in 2018. Today, along with a provably fair RNG and instant payments, CoinPoker offers some of the softest cash games online, weekly rakeback, and plenty of juicy MTT guarantees.
CoinPoker offers cash games for Texas Hold’em, Omaha, and 5-Card Omaha starting from just $0.01/$0.02 blinds. Action goes up well over $5/$10 while maintaining good traffic. The poker room generally has around 3,000 players online, with hundreds of tables and tens of ongoing tournaments.
Alongside poker, the client also has sections for casino games, live casino games, and a complete sportsbook.
Banking at CoinPoker is done mainly through cryptocurrencies, with fiat deposits also open to players based in: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE, and the United Kingdom.
If you do deposit using crypto, the following coins are supported – USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, BNB, POL (formerly MATIC), and CHP. It is also possible to deposit from an exchange using the separate ‘deposit from exchange’ tab. As for withdrawals, players can cash out in USDT or CHP, with network fees ranging from zero on the Polygon network to 5 USDT over Ethereum.
Although the help section on the site is pretty slim and there aren’t many answered FAQs at this time, customer support is available around the clock. You can contact the team by email or by filling out the message form. A similar contact form is available in the installed client as well.
I downloaded the CoinPoker app in 2024 for a variety of reasons, the main one being its cutting-edge crypto software. I wouldn’t say I’ve been crushing the games, but I’ve certainly been active enough to earn plenty of CoinPoker rakeback and put the software through its paces.
This is my unbiased CoinPoker review, and while it is a great poker site overall, there are still some downsides. So, if you want to know what it’s like to use a crypto-only poker site, here’s my honest CoinPoker review.
Pros
- Completely decentralized and transparent
- Generous first deposit bonus
- Above-average rakeback rewards
- Soft cash games and freerolls
Cons
- CoinPoker mobile needs updating
- Limited poker variants
CoinPoker Poker Bonuses
My CoinPoker review mentioned rakeback early on. In my opinion, rakeback is one of CoinPoker’s greatest strengths. I’m not saying there aren’t other ways to boost your bankroll because there are plenty, but CoinPoker’s promo page isn’t awash with creative offers.
That’s not necessarily a negative. I appreciate familiarity, as do most players. As the CoinPoker’s app pushes boundaries, it would be nice to see some unique promotions. There other ways for CoinPoker players to get added value though.
CoinPoker Signup Code
The CoinPoker welcome bonus is generous for a few reasons. Before I dive into the details, here’s what all new players get:
Bonus Name: CoinPoker Welcome Bonus Bonus Amount: Up to $2,000 Min. Deposit: $10 Max Withdrawal: N/A CoinPoker Bonus Code: CPLAYER The CoinPoker signup code is a 150% match on the first deposit, going up to $2,000. It requires a minimum deposit of $10 and you can enter the CoinPoker promo code CPLAYER to activate it after signing up.
The bonus amount releases in 10 installments of 10% each while playing on CoinPoker and generating rake. The reason I used the CoinPoker bonus code CPLAYER was the playthrough. At 2x the bonus’s value, it’s easy to convert free credits to cash. Many of the best online poker sites set their playthrough at up to 4x.
For example, a $100 deposit with a $150 bonus requires players to pay $30 in rake for every $15 in bonus funds. Both cash game rake and tournament buy-in fees count here, but it is good to note that rebuys and add-ons are excluded.
Overall, this makes the CoinPoker signup bonus easier to clear than most other poker bonuses. You also have 30 days to claim the full amount, which is about the industry standard. When released, the bonus is in cash and can be used to continue playing or withdraw without any strings attached.
So, when you combine the offer’s top-end value and its playthrough, you’ve got a promotion that’s suitable for recreational players and high rollers.
CoinPoker Rakeback
Nearly every CoinPoker review states that everyone gets a 33% rakeback. That’s not strictly true. Everyone has the ability to get 33% rakeback, but the only people who receive weekly rebates are those who stake CHP.
For context, CHP is CoinPoker’s native cryptocurrency token. You need to convert some funds from your account into CHP via the cashier page. That CHP gets staked.
From there, 50% of the rake you generate gets converted to CHP and deducted from your balance. Of the funds deducted, you receive rakeback in USDT. That rebate is equivalent to 33% rakeback, which is comfortably above the industry average of 30%.
Overall, the CoinPoker rakeback system is generous. In my opinion, I’d prefer a simpler system whereby everyone automatically receives rakeback. That being said, the rationale for giving rakeback to CHP holders is that they’re contributing to the CoinPoker ecosystem, which is fair.
Other Promotions
The other CoinPoker promotions worth mentioning are leaderboard competitions and bad-beat jackpots. There are occasional reload bonuses, too.
On top of that, the leaderboard promotions are for everyone. There’s a weekly $2,000 cash game leaderboard, as well as a $15,000 monthly competition for tournament players.
Most crypto poker sites only run leaderboard promos for tournament players, so CoinPoker outperforms its peers in this category.
How to Download CoinPoker
Here’s how the CoinPoker download process works:
- Use our secure link to create your account. *Enter the CoinPoker bonus code CPLAYER to claim the welcome offer.
- Tap to download the CoinPoker app.
- Choose your device: Windows, Mac, or Android.
- Initiate the CoinPoker download process.
- Install the app, log in to make a deposit, and claim your CoinPoker welcome bonus.
CoinPoker Poker Games
I mainly stick to cash games, which I will tackle first in this segment of my honest CoinPoker review. But in recent weeks, I’ve been playing some CoinPoker tournaments too. The SNGs are great, and as I’ll explain, certain tournaments have the potential to be extremely profitable.
CoinPoker Cash GamesCoinPoker cash games made the headlines in 2022 when Tony G won the biggest online pot in history. The $1,000/$2,000 Pot Limit Omaha game was full of ridiculous pots, but the one that catapulted CoinPoker into the limelight was worth $7.7 million.
Ever since then, CoinPoker has become the go-to offshore poker site for nosebleed games. In fact, over the last few years, the $1,000/$2,000 PLO table has been supplemented with a selection of $500/$1,000 5-Card Omaha, Hold’em, and PLO tables.
For mere mortals who can’t quite stretch to cash games with a minimum buy-in of $100,000, the CoinPoker app has plenty of options. I mainly flit between the $0.50/$1 and $2/$4 six-max Hold’em and PLO tables, depending on the action.
I will say that tables above $5/$10 are sparsely populated. In fact, I even struggle to find $2/$4 PLO games at certain times. Fortunately, though, the action picks up significantly at peak times.
The other positive to CoinPoker’s cash games is that the average player isn’t particularly skilled. As a relatively new online poker site, CoinPoker attracts a lot of newbies, which is why cash games start at $0.01/$0.02.
CoinPoker TournamentsThere are CoinPoker tournaments for everyone. Before I give you my take on the current line-up, here’s a quick overview of what to expect:
- Stakes: $0.01 to $5,000
- Variants Covered: Hold’em, Omaha, 5-Card Omaha
- Tournament Types: Freezeout, Rebuy, Re-entry, Knockout, Satellites
To get an idea of the type of players in the average MTT, I played the $5 Sunday Rapido (because I like turbo tournaments) and the $10 Prime.
The latter has a $1,250 guarantee, which is decent, but for me, CoinPoker’s guarantees could be better overall. I say that as someone who also plays tournaments on ACR, which guarantees over $10 million per week.
CoinPoker is newer to the game than ACR, so it’s got time to catch up. In fact, there are a lot more festivals popping up, including the $250,000 guaranteed Carnival Series. This, along with weekly majors such as the $100,000 guaranteed Falcon, shows that the tournament schedule is improving.
In my opinion, low and mid-stakes players will get the most value from CoinPoker tournaments. The Centrolls ($0.01 buy-in) are excellent value for newbies, while grinders have plenty of MTTs and satellites within the $5 to $100 range.
CoinPoker FreerollsIf you’re not ready for the wealth of daily Centrolls, CoinPoker has you covered. For the purposes of this CoinPoker review, I anted up in some daily Bankroll Builder freerolls. With $5 and $10 prize pools, these are ideal for complete newbies.
It’s also worth looking out for special events, such as WSOP freeroll satellites and community free-to-play tournaments with guarantees topping $2,500. Finally, if you download Best Wallet (a crypto wallet), you’ll get entry to exclusive freerolls.
CoinPoker Poker Variants
There are a few ways to play poker at CoinPoker. I wish there were a couple more, but the main variants are covered, as the table below shows:
Texas Hold’em ✅ Omaha Hi ✅ Omaha Hi/Lo ✅ 5-Card Omaha ✅ Razz ❌ Seven Card Stud ❌ Seven-Card Stud 8 or Better ❌ 2-7 Single Draw ❌ 2-7 Triple Draw ❌ H.O.R.S.E. ❌ 8-Game ❌ Six Plus ❌ Famous CoinPoker Cash Games
Picking up on what I said earlier in my CoinPoker review, cash games are this app’s forte. As well as the super high-stakes games, CoinPoker has made its mark by running unique events.
One of the most impressive in recent years was the Cash Game World Championship. The 24/7 event gave the game’s greats, including CoinPoker Ambassador Linus Loeliger, a chance to battle in $50/$100 and $100/$200 heads-up showdowns.
Other than guaranteeing a share of $1 million in prize money, the showdowns were played on CoinPoker rake-free tables. That, if nothing else, is an example of CoinPoker’s commitment to creating better playing conditions for cash game pros.
Recent Updates at CoinPoker
The most significant CoinPoker app update in recent months is the removal of HUD restrictions. A lot of online poker sites continue to restrict HUD usage because they believe it gives players an unfair advantage.
I’ve never agreed with that stance. HUDs undoubtedly help you make better decisions, but interpreting statistical data is a skill. It’s even more of a skill to combine HUD data with your own reads. Therefore, I was pleased to see CoinPoker’s executives open the door to HUDs in January 2025.
CoinPoker made the announcement its Discord channel before the news hit poker media outlets. I’ve been using Hold’em Manager’s HUD for more than a decade, so I see this as a win for CoinPoker because a lot of crypto poker sites have failed to embrace a tool all serious online grinders use.
How to Claim CoinPoker Rakeback
I said earlier in this CoinPoker review that rakeback is only available to players who hold CHP. While some find the system complicated, 33% is one of the best rakeback deals out there right now.
Here’s how it works – let’s say you generate $500 in CoinPoker rake on average every week. If you don’t hold CHP, the CoinPoker rake you’ve paid goes towards the app’s running costs. If you own CHP, you’ll receive $165 in CoinPoker rakeback weekly.
That’s money you can’t really afford to miss out on, especially when you don’t have to deviate from your normal strategy. As long as you have CHP, you can play your favorite games as normal and count on weekly rakeback to boost your bankroll.
Here’s how to get CoinPoker rakeback:
- Tap our registration link to create an account. *Use the CoinPoker promo code CPLAYER to get the $2,000 first deposit bonus.
- Use the CoinPoker download button to install the software on your computer/mobile.
- Log into your CoinPoker account and open the cashier page (using the wallet icon).
- Make a deposit by transferring funds from your crypto wallet to CoinPoker.
- Once you’ve added funds to your account, go to “Buy CHP” on the cashier page.
- Enter the amount of CHP you want to buy.
- Confirm the transaction.
Make sure you keep your CHP balance topped up to continue receiving CoinPoker rakeback. Typically players will just buy the minimum needed based on how much rake they pay at their stakes.
Poker Strategy for Playing at CoinPoker
I’ve been down in the CoinPoker trenches for a while, and these are six things I’ve done to stay one step ahead of the curve:
1. Game SelectionThere are plenty of soft cash games on CoinPoker. Annoyingly, the lobby doesn’t tell you how many players are seeing flops and getting to showdowns.
But I’ve found that games with at least one player waiting to join often have fishy players.
2. Don’t Overestimate Your AbilityI see too many players go broke because they overestimate their abilities and sit in games they can’t be.
Always be conservative and never play for stakes you can’t afford.
3. Use a HUDTake advantage of the new CoinPoker HUD policy. If you’re not gathering statistical data on your opponents and their betting, raising, and showdown tendencies, you’re missing out.
4. Aggression WorksPutting players under pressure with consistent and measured aggression is highly effective.
I’ve found that raising and 3-betting works incredibly well in CoinPoker’s low-stakes six-max cash games.
5. Position Over EverythingUnless you’re incredibly skilled or have a premium holding such as pocket aces, the majority of hands you play should be in late position.
Having position on opponents (i.e., acting after them) gives you more information, which, in turn, makes decisions easier.
6. Never Stop LearningUse the CardPlayer Poker School to refine your skills. I’ve been playing poker for more than a decade, and I still watch coaching videos, review hands, and read strategy articles to keep up with ever-improving theory. It’s something a lot of players don’t do, so it can definitely give you an edge.
Lobby & Software
CoinPoker’s cash game lobby doesn’t show you how often players are seeing flops and showdowns. That’s something I’d like to see changed. This information is vital for players looking for potentially profitable games.
There’s also an ongoing issue with the CoinPoker mobile app, which I’ll discuss in a moment. Aside from these minor grievances, CoinPoker shines brighter than other poker apps for one reason: blockchain technology.
Let’s get into why blockchain technology is allowing CoinPoker to change the game.
CoinPoker Features
CoinPoker doesn’t have the best visuals in the world. You can adjust the table design and the cards. You’ll find, though, that none of the currency options are going to blow you away, in my opinion.
The good news is that looks don’t really matter. As long as the tables are streamlined and easy to use, I’m happy. CoinPoker’s tables aren’t overloaded with unnecessary features, so you can focus on what’s important, i.e., your opponents.
The optional extras you can use are:
- Auto Rebuy: Top up your balance as soon as it falls before a pre-set amount using the auto rebuy feature.
- Tile or Cascade: CoinPoker doesn’t limit the number of tables you can play simultaneously, which is not only unique but great for serious grinders. You can choose to tile, cascade, or arrange the tables as you see fit.
- Instant Hand Replayer: Rewatch previous hands and stop at each stage to see exactly how it went down.
- Chat Box: Say ‘hello’, ‘well done’, or something about your opponent’s lucky draw in the chat box.
- Pre-set Bet Buttons: If you don’t want to use the slider or enter a custom amount, CoinPoker has the following pre-set betting options: Minimum, ½ Pot, Pot, Max. You can also make a standard 3x raise pre-flop.
- Run It Twice: You can choose to run two boards when you’re all-in pre-flop against people who have also activated this option.
- Straddle: You can choose to add a third bet to the pot (aka a straddle) before any cards are dealt. You can only place a straddle bet when you’re immediately to the left of the big blind.
On top of the table features listed above, the CoinPoker app benefits from being built on blockchain technology. You can read more about blockchain technology and how it works here.
In terms of what it means for you as a poker player, these are the main qualities blockchain technology provides at CoinPoker:
Transparency
CoinPoker’s RNG is built on a blockchain using smart contracts. This means the results are 100% random and, more importantly, verifiable at all times.
Blockchains are public ledgers, so you’ve got the ability to check the result of any hand at any time to make sure it’s fair. That’s something you can’t do at standard online poker sites.
Instant Payments
Being mainly crypto-based allows CoinPoker to process transactions instantly and anonymously. I love this for a few reasons.
Firstly, no one, including me, wants to wait days to receive their winnings.
Secondly, the anonymity of cryptocurrency transactions makes it harder for someone to compromise your account. Finally, because cryptocurrencies are decentralized and not tied to a single country, you can use CoinPoker from anywhere in the world.
If you do prefer to use fiat currency to deposit and withdraw, that option is there for 20+ countries so far, with more expected to be added soon – but note the games are played in USDT, so your deposit will be converted into USDT.
- Get 33% online poker rakeback every Monday
- Fully anonymous, instant withdrawal crypto poker
- Free from deposit and withdrawal fees if you use crypto
CoinPoker App
The CoinPoker app is available for Windows, Mac, and Android devices. Everything I’ve described so far in this CoinPoker review is available for all devices. What I will say is that the mobile app needs work.
Everything on the desktop side of things is great, but there have been issues with CoinPoker mobile.
For starters, the iOS app wasn’t available during my review. In late 2024 it was taken offline for undisclosed reasons. It hasn’t returned as of February 2025.
A bit of research tells me an updated CoinPoker iOS is pending, but it’s not clear when it will be ready. In the meantime, iOS users will have to use their Windows or Mac devices because CoinPoker doesn’t offer instant-play browser-based software.
Android users can download the CoinPoker app via the website.
I have an iPhone, but recent CoinPoker reviews on Reddit suggest that a few bugs need to be fixed. I’m confident improvements to CoinPoker’s mobile app will be made. For now, though, I recommend using the desktop app.
CoinPoker Payment Methods
Other offshore poker sites have more cryptocurrency payment options than CoinPoker. Ignition and Bovada are notable examples.
CoinPoker’s cashier page only lists the most popular cryptos. The main reason for this is liquidity. While it’s great that some poker sites accept niche altcoins, the downside is that limited liquidity in the market means that transfers can take a while.
CoinPoker’s payment options all have excellent liquidity. This means deposits and withdrawals can be processed almost instantly.
- USDT (this is the currency you’ll use in CoinPoker tournaments and cash games)
- CHP
- BTC
- ETH
- POL
- BNB
Here’s an overview of deposits and withdrawals at CoinPoker.
CoinPoker Deposits
Deposit Method Minimum Deposit Deposit Fee Processing Time USDT None <1% Instant CHP None No Fees Instant BTC None Standard Network Fees Up to 1 hour (depends on network traffic) ETH None Standard Network Fees Instant POL None Standard Network Fees Instant BNB None Standard Network Fees Instant CoinPoker Withdrawals
Withdrawal Method Minimum Withdrawal Withdrawal Fee Processing Time USDT $5 Standard Network Fees 10 minutes (up to 24 hours) CHP $5 No Fees <10 minutes BTC $5 Standard Network Fees 30 to 60 minutes ETH $5 Standard Network Fees 10 minutes (up to 24 hours) POL $5 Standard Network Fees <10 minutes BNB $5 Standard Network Fees 10 minutes (up to 24 hours) You can deposit cryptocurrencies from your wallet or directly from an exchange. I use the Ledger Wallet for crypto poker payments, but I’ve transferred money from Coinbase before, and it was just as easy.
CoinPoker also gives you the option to buy cryptocurrency via the cashier page using a credit or debit card if you verify your identity. Your payment goes via a third party that charges fees, so it’s not the best option, but it’s there if you need it.
CHP Token at CoinPoker
Most of you probably have BTC, ETH, or USDT, so don’t feel like you have to get CHP before using CoinPoker because it feels familiar to use these cryptos for deposits.
CHP is the easiest way to make deposits and withdrawals because there aren’t any fees, and it automatically enrolls you in the rakeback system.
Safety and Customer Support at CoinPoker
CoinPoker is licensed by the Union of the Comoros. All payments are encrypted because they’re processed via blockchains.
Personally, I’ve never felt at risk using CoinPoker. I’ve also never had to contact the customer support team.
The FAQ has answered any questions I’ve had, but it’s nice to know customer service agents are available 24/7 via email ([email protected]) and Discord.
Famous Players at CoinPoker
CoinPoker has quietly attracted some of the most formidable cash and MTT players in the world. Tony G was one of the earliest and most famous ambassadors. In recent years, we’ve also seen the likes of Patrick ‘Pads’ Leonard, Mario Mosbock, Ryan Depaulo, Nik Airball, Linus Loeliger, and many more big names playing on the site.
Nik Airball will be familiar to those who watch Live at the Bike or other high-stakes TV cash games. A businessman by day, Airball has an unorthodox style that’s incredibly effective when it works and great entertainment for everyone else when it doesn’t. Such is Airball’s willingness to play anyone at any stakes, CoinPoker gave him his own table during the Cash Game World Championship.
Loeliger is a poker player through and through. Born in Switzerland, he first came to the online poker community’s attention in 2013 when he launched his bankroll challenge. Starting with $150, Loeliger won enough over the next four years to be properly bankrolled for $200/$400 No Limit Hold’em games.
Today, Loeliger has won millions of dollars playing cash games online and over $7 million in live poker tournaments.
Is CoinPoker Legit?
Yes, CoinPoker is a legit online poker site. Not only is it licensed and reputable, but it also utilizes cutting-edge technology to ensure that you and your money are protected at all times.
Is it Legal to Play at CoinPoker in the US?CoinPoker is legal everywhere in the world, including the US, for two reasons:
- It holds an international online poker license from the Union of the Comoros.
- It’s a decentralized platform that accepts cryptocurrencies available to anyone worldwide.
Some people use a VPN to access the CoinPoker domain to download the client, if they have connection issues from their country – but you shouldn’t have any problems using the client itself worldwide, once you have it installed.
CoinPoker Personal Review
Overall, CoinPoker games are soft and the perks, including rakeback, are great. Would I like to see a few more promotions? Yes. Could the tournament schedule and CoinPoker mobile app be improved? Yes.
As it is in life, CoinPoker isn’t perfect, but I still rate it highly. It does the fundamentals well and a lot more.
Harnessing the power of blockchain technology puts CoinPoker at the forefront of online gaming in terms of security, transparency, and efficiency. This, for me, is why it’s a rising star in online poker.
FAQs

Is CoinPoker available in the US?
