A man in Australia has received his sentence for dropping 0.34 grams of cocaine on a table while gambling, according to a report from the Australian Broadcast Corporation. The drugs fell out of his wallet when he was grabbing money to place a bet.
The man, who tried to shrug off the incident and keep playing, had told police that it was “just a few party drugs for tonight.”
Authorities quickly went to the casino camera footage and escorted the gambler to a private room and arrested him. He eventually pleaded guilty and received a $300 fine.
The incident happened at Skycity Darwin casino earlier this month.
Table games are popular in the country’s casinos, and that includes poker. Sixty seven Aussies participated in this year’s WSOP main event, which was the 8th most out of any country. Just one Aussie has won the main event, and that was Joe Hachem in 2005, which was a boost for Australian poker. The country has seven major poker rooms.
