
He is facing probation, community service and eight months of home confinement in New York. He would also have to forfeit $265,000. This is assuming the judge agrees to the plea deal between the defense and prosecution.
Paetsch’s defense said that he had minimal involvement with the operation, and it only included introducing people he knew to the offshore gambling sites.
The FBI alleged that he passed on information “which assisted in the placing of bets and wagers with the illegal Internet gambling business on sporting events and contests.”
The defense added that neither Paetsch nor his friends ever bet on hockey.
He faces sentencing in late August.
