For the win Fish earned his very first WSOP Circuit ring and the $173,189 first-place prize. This was not his largest score, but is definitely his highest profile live tournament title.
“I’m not in the game for the titles,” he said after securing his victory, “but taking one down is a really satisfying feeling," Fish told WSOP.com. "And even though I know I’m capable of winning, it’s nice to have that reinforced by actually doing it.”
In addition to the hardware and the money the 28-year-old poker pro from Cape Coral also scored 840 Card Player Player of the Year points, which were enough to move him into 28th place in the overall when combined with the points he earned with a third place finish in a $2,200 prelim at the Lucky Hearts Poker Open. He has 984 total POY points, with year-to-date earnings of $197,049.
