Man Turns Himself In Two Years After Robbing Nevada Casino For $164,000

24-Year-Old Gives Himself Up After Years On The Run

A former employee at a Nevada casino decided to turn himself in two years after allegedly stealing more than $160,000 from the place, according to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The crime happened in early 2013 at the William Hill Race & Sports Book Primm Valley Resort and Casino in Stateline. Dell Eugene Warfield III, pictured right, entered the casino and opened a safe containing the loot. He knew the code because he worked there.

The whole incident was captured on video, but since he knew the safe’s code the alarm didn’t go off. A fellow employee reportedly witnessed the heist.

The 24-year-old Warfield is due in Nevada court this week on charges of burglary and theft.

The Review-Journal reported that it’s unclear why he turned himself in and how much, if any, of the money still remains.

After the crime, Warfield reportedly sent a text message to his father, saying he “got caught up,” was on the run and “he will not be hearing from him again."
