High-stakes pot-limit Omaha beast ‘GucciNIKE‘ continues to crush on CoinPoker, and Jared ‘Theblez’ Bleznick took the worst of it in their most recent clash. In a session that lasted almost 400 hands and took place across three tables of $500-$1,000 ($200 ante), GucciNIKE wrecked Bleznick for a win of about $850,000. Along with GucciNIKE’s other matches that day, their total win on Friday amounted to more than $1.4 million.
GucciNIKE Uses Min-Raise To Induce A Jam
Playing just over 100-blind stacks, GucciNIKE raised and called a three-bet to $9,000 from Bleznick.
The flop came A♠9♠6♥, and Bleznick continued for $13,800. GucciNIKE made it a min-raise to $27,600. Bleznick responded by jamming for $98,400. GucciNIKE called.
GucciNIKE held K♥9♥9♣4♥ for middle set and a backdoor flush draw. Bleznick had A♦K♦K♠7♠ for top pair and the nut flush draw.
The board ran out 7♦, J♦, keeping the set best and sending a $215,200 pot to GucciNIKE.

Hand Analysis
GucciNIKE’s hand is a bit weak, but it’s still a completely normal raise-call preflop at 100 big blinds.
On the flop, Bleznick leads out with a big bet after finding top pair and the nut flush draw. These hands are often played as smaller bets, since the out-of-position player has a lot of top set and a lot of strong flush draw combo hands, so they sometimes don’t mind playing turns and rivers out of position.
However, the presence of the middle straight draws is an argument for a bigger bet. The 9-6 on board should interact with a lot of the raise-calling from the small blind. Top set will sometimes want to ram in maximum money on the flop before the board starts running out poorly.
GucciNIKE opts for an interesting play, the minimum raise. This is a play that will frequently happen on lockdown boards — ones where the nuts will very rarely change. Paired boards are the most common example. It’s a powerful one because it pumps the pot with nutted hands, giving the opponent a seemingly great price to stick around, while also giving a cheap price on bluffs.
Using the min-raise on a dynamic texture like this indicates that GucciNIKE is very confident in their hand, and they expect Bleznick to make some mistakes. The most likely one would be calling too wide, but Bleznick actually has a good enough hand to get the money in. Unfortunately for Bleznick, he gets coolered and loses a stack.
Bleznick Pays Off River Check-Raise
About 120 blinds deep, Bleznick opened for $3,000, and GucciNIKE called.
Both players checked the flop, bringing a board of 9♦8♠3♠6♥. GucciNIKE bet $4,800, and Bleznick called. On the 9♠ river, GucciNIKE checked. Bleznick bet $12,000, GucciNIKE raised to $52,000, and Bleznick called.
GucciNIKE showed 9♣8♦4♣4♥ for the nuts, and Bleznick’s cards were mucked. The $120,000 pot went to GucciNIKE.

Hand Analysis
Preflop, GucciNIKE has a normal defend in an ante game. The solver actually mucks this holding to an open when single-suited, but that’s not going to happen in a heads-up match with antes.
The flop checks through, and GucciNIKE makes an interesting decision to lead the turn, even though a possible straight hits the board. A set can more comfortably bet-call in this situation if faced with a raise, because it will improve to a full house more often than two pair. By contrast, when GucciNIKE has two pair and no straight blocker, checking is a more normal play.
However, if GucciNIKE expects Bleznick to call worse hands often and sometimes check back draws, betting to get value can make some sense.
The river brings home the flush but also gives GucciNIKE a full house. Many times, players should use some small bets to get into the bet-three-bet line with their nut hands, but the flush coming in puts GucciNIKE in a situation where they unblock a hand that will almost always bet the river. A flush has much less value in this spot when money has gone in on every prior street. After the flop checks through, flushes are good much more often.
Whether Bleznick has a flush or not, he does go for the bet, and GucciNIKE is able to spring the trap. The river bluffs here will often include combos like 8-6 without spades, because the check-jam is meant to make flushes indifferent. Some 9-X combos will bluff as well, and the pot sizing is the best one, because the big blind is representing a polar range where the nuts make up most of the value.
