CoinPoker’s first CoinMillion tournament of September drew a record number of entries for the platform’s flagship event. The tournament attracted 4,986 entries as part of the kick off of the Global Online Poker Champoinship. The tournament surpassed July’s Battle of Malta online edition event by 202 entries.
The field comprised 3,628 unique players and 1,358 re-entries or rebuys. Competitors secured seats through 3,495 direct cash buy-ins, 1,015 promotional tickets, and 476 satellite qualifiers. The top 772 places finished in the money.
A player under the screen name ‘fish2025’ secured the $119,500 first-place prize without any rebuys or re-entries. It’s a truly remarkable feat, especially in the modern game. The victory was 48 times larger than his previous-best tournament cash on CoinPoker. Prior to his six-figure win, his largest online tournament cash was worth $2,491.
After registering 63 minutes into Day 1, fish2025 ended the opening session seventh in chips before advancing to the final table on Day 2.
In a rare instance, the two finalists didn’t negotiate a deal. Instead, the duo played heads-up for the money originally allocated for the final two players.
At the start of the final hand, fish2025 held over two-thirds of the chips in play.

Fish Flushes His Opponent
Following a quarter-pot continuation bet on the flop and a subsequent raise, the turn brought the five of spades. fish2025 moved all in and IWtPlayaGame called with an A-7 offsuit. He was drawing dead and the [pc]Jh[/pc] came on the river just for posterity. IWtPlayaGame took home $76,300 for his second place-finish.
The remainder of the final table included players with varied track records. Third place went to “hross” for $55,000, followed by “jenesaisquoi” in fourth for $40,200. “VVsMolly” exited in fifth for $29,400. “GrosTony” secured sixth place for $21,800, outperforming a previous career tournament total of $521. “ThunderBeing,” the table’s most experienced player with over 1,500 paid tournaments, finished ninth for $12,600.
Promotional entry paths yielded returns for players outside the final table. “r8gogo” converted a free promotional ticket into a seventh-place finish worth $16,500. “Fab1o” parlayed a $25 satellite entry into $4,900 for 14th place. Across the entire field, there were 133 players competing on free tickets reached the money for a combined $125,800, and 74 satellite qualifiers collected a total of $53,600.
Three additional CoinMillion GOPC editions are scheduled for Sept. 13, Sept. 20, and Sept. 27.

The Sept. 13 event runs alongside several major guarantee events, including a $530 Main Event Day 1B flight and a $500,000 guaranteed Big Weekender final. The CoinMillion tournament returns to its standard first-Sunday schedule on Oct. 4. Direct and step satellites for these upcoming flights are currently active in the CoinPoker lobby.
