Canadian rapper Drake will be giving away 10% of his gambling winnings as part of a three-day livestream that started Sunday.
Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, is an ambassador for the Stake online gaming platform. Besides being an A-list music performer, he has made headlines for his love of gambling in recent years.
He is streaming his online gambling on the Kick platform, and one lucky viewer has a chance to cash in on some of his winnings. He said the streams would run “BACK 2 BACK 2 BACK.”
The contest follows a tough betting year for Drake. “Can we end my roughest gambling year on a good note??” Drake noted on Instagram. “I want to MAXWIN and share 10% of it with you.”
Win Some, Lose Some
Drake has been known to make monster sports bets. He recently put $200,000 on boxer Jake Paul to defeat Anthony Joshua in a match that aired last Friday on Netflix. A Paul upset would have put $1.6 million in Drake’s pocket. But Joshua, a former two-time heavyweight champion, knocked Paul out in the sixth round.
In June, Drake detailed gambling losses of $8 million in a single month. In 2024, he lost $300,000 betting on the Canadian soccer team.
He bet $1 million on Argentina to win the World Cup in 2022, and the team indeed took home the trophy. However, he still lost the wager because the match finished in penalty kicks. That’s considered a draw. He also lost $275,000 on UFC’s Jorge Masvidal to beat Colby Covington.
Also in 2022, Drake won $559,000 on Super Bowl wagers, including on the Rams to win and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to score a touchdown. That same year, a $159,000 wager on the Golden State Warriors to finish atop the NBA’s Western Conference brought the rapper a nice return of $650,000.
In March, a video went viral showing the rapper alone in an empty club playing online slots. Despite his love of gambling, he doesn’t seem to have any appetite for online poker.
