Approximate Stack Sizes: Dustin ($2,300), SX ($1,100) and Greg ($350)
Action: Dustin raises to $40 from under the gun with pocket eights. SX flat calls with J
9 immediately behind him and Greg calls for an additional $20 in the big blind with J
9.
The flop comes down A

and everyone checks after Dustin opts not to continuation bet. The turn pairs the board with the A and Greg bets $40. Dustin gets out of the way and SX calls.
The river is the 3 and Greg bets $40. SX makes the call and the players split the pot.
The Questions
Was Greg betting the river for value, as a bluff or to push an opponent off of any jack, which would have resulted in a chopped pot? Should Dustin have fired a continuation bet on that flop? Should SX be calling preflop with his suited semi-connector in early position? Is Greg ever getting called by a worse hand? If not, then wouldn’t he gain more value from a check/call when SX bets the river with a missed draw?
