Four poker players were murdered over the weekend in Kano, Nigeria.
It was the second such attack in as many weeks after three other were killed the week prior by gunmen on motorcycles according to AllAfrica.com.
Three of the players died at the scene, a poker room known as Majalisar Hamisu Gurgu at Gaidam near Filin Kashu in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state just after 5 p.m. on Saturday while a fourth died in hospital.
The news report said witnesses heard the gunmen calling the card players, “foolish gamblers”, before opening fire.
A number of people also sustained injuries as the gunmen fled the scene.
Deputy Police public relations officer of the Kano State Police Command, ASP Musa Magaji Majiya said an investigation was underway.
