Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert met with the Ohio Casino Control Commission on Thursday to share his vision for a potential casino in downtown Cleveland. Gilbert envisions the property as an economic boost for a struggling city. Gilbert is hoping to be granted a license for his joint venture with Rock Ohio and Caesars Entertainment.


March Casino Winnings Up 5.8 Percent In Louisiana

Louisiana’s 17 casinos took in a total of $227.9 million in March, up 5.8 percent in a year-over-year comparison. In March of 2011, the casinos only generated $215.4 million. Toronto Residents Split Over Proposed Casino

According to a poll released by the Ipsos Reid company on Thursday, a small majority of Toronto residents are in favor of a new proposal to build a casino. The poll also found that more residents would support the property if it were to be a resort complete with restaurants, stores and a hotel.


Gaming Panel Requests Bigger Project From Rotate Black For Mississippi Casino

The Mississippi State Gaming Commission told Rotate Black developers to come back with a bigger project for Harbor Town Casino. The commission was concerned with the proposed casino’s lack of size and how a smaller property would affect other potential developers to the Gulfport area, which is still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.


Maine Grants Oxford Casino Gaming License

The Maine Gambling Control Board approved a gaming license for Oxford Casino in western Maine on Tuesday by a vote of 4-0. The casino will hire over 350 full-time employees over the next two months to ensure an on-time opening in June. The casino will feature 500 slot machines and 12 table games.
