WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio Draws 413 Players

Winner to Take Home $821,612


Registration has closed at the 2011 Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio. A total of 413 players put up the $10,000 buy-in to create a prize pool of more than $4 million.

The top 100 players will finish in the money, but all will be seeking the grand prize of $821,612.

Last year Antonio Esfandiari defeated a 438-player field, including a stacked final table, to take home $870,124 in prize money

Day 2 came to an end with 149 players remaining and an average chip count around 111,000.

Here’s a look at the chip leaders heading into Day 3:

1. Grant Lang — 382,000
2. Jeffrey Frerichs — 342,900
3. Scott Clements — 330,100
4. Soi Nguyen — 329,800
5. Jean Gaspard — 296,200

Day 3 begins Thursday at noon PT, and the field will play another five 90-minute levels.

On Friday, the Bellagio will kick off the first day of the $100,000 buy-in “High Roller” event.
