Calvin Anderson Wins Eighth Career World Series Of Poker Bracelet

Online Victory Makes Anderson Just The 12th Player In Poker History To Earn As Many WSOP Titles

Eight World Series of Poker bracelets put a player in truly rarefied air. Calvin Anderson reached that historic milestone this week after conquering the WSOP Online $777 buy-in no-limit hold’em Lucky 7’s event for his eighth career bracelet. In doing so, he became just the 12th player in poker history to have secured as many bracelets. He is now tied with Daniel Negreanu and Nick Schulman, who each earned their eighth bracelets this summer.

Anderson was also quite successful in Las Vegas this year, earning two titles at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. He first took down the $10,000 razz championship to become the winningest razz player in WSOP history, surpassing all-time bracelet leader Phil Hellmuth in the process. Just four days later, Anderson emerged victorious in the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. championship, marking his fourth win in one of the championship events. In addition to this H.O.R.S.E. win and two victories in razz, he also took down the eight-game mix in 2024.

This latest win in a lower-stakes no-limit hold’em event came with $48,914 in prize money. It was his third online bracelet triumph. Anderson now has more than $9.4 million in career cashes to his name.

Hellmuth’s 17 WSOP wins keep him on top of the all-time bracelet leaderboard. Phil Ivey also stands alone in second with his 11 triumphs at the series. Erik Seidel, Johnny Chan, and the late great Doyle Brunson are all tied at 10 bracelets. Michael Mizrachi, Benny Glaser, Johnny Moss, and Shaun Deeb sit in a four-way tie at nine wins apiece.

Anderson had plenty of tough competition to contend with down the stretch in this event. Among those to join him at the final table were Salvatore Dicarlo (9th – $4,446), Nicholas Palma (7th – $6,987), and Justin Vaysman (4th – $19,692).
