The World Series of Poker will return to the Las Vegas Strip this summer for the 54th annual series. The summer tournament festival will officially run from May 30 to July 18, WSOP officials announced Monday.
This will be the second year that the WSOP will be held on the Strip, once again being split between Bally’s, which will soon be rebranded as the Horseshoe, and Paris Las Vegas. The 2022 series saw a record-breaking $347.9 million in total payouts.
“The historic debut of the WSOP on the Las Vegas Strip delivered in a big way, and we’re excited to announce our Summer 2023 dates in time for the holidays,” said Senior Vice President and Executive Director Ty Stewart. “Poker players and fans can now officially mark their calendars and maybe even book their loved ones or themselves a trip to the WSOP as a holiday gift. We’re glad to be back at Paris Las Vegas and the future Horseshoe Las Vegas for another exciting chapter in the tournament’s history as these two resorts raised the bar in hosting last year’s event.”
The $10,000 buy-in main event will feature four starting flights from July 3-6, and will wrap up with a champion on July 17. Last year, Espen Jorstad banked $10 million for topping a field of 8,663, the second-largest of all time.
Other returning events include the $1,000 Mystery Millions, a $1,500 Monster Stack, the $400 Colossus, the $777 Lucky 7s, the $1,500 Closer, and the $1,500 Millionaire Maker.
There was also the addition of the new Gladiators of Poker event, which will feature a $3 million guarantee. The tournament has the lowest live buy-in of the series at just $300.
